Ouch!

Poor Barbie. In many ways he is a victim of parcell's sentimentality.

Picks like Carp, Spears, and even Fasano are the main reason I cannot agree with those who try to make it seem like parcells is a "genius" when it comes to player evaluation. He definitely had some really good hits, but also some pretty bad misses in the drafts during his time here.

I do like Marty B. a lot on the field.....he seems to be a bit of a "character" off the field sometimes though. (to say the least)

This is just shameful but it is irrefutable evidence of what the players actually think about Barbie.

I don't understand this.
What isn't there to get? Carpenter being here is a stupid personnel decision on Jerry's part. If you want to clean house, clean the bums like this guy. This guy has a roster spot and doesn't take on blockers, and plays weak like a srcub. He is a big joke and this team and doesn't have any respect. Though Greg Ellis may whine during training camp, at least he brings something to the table as far as it concerns play. TO the same thing, but to justify a guy that contributes nothing and seems to be here only because he was drafted in the first round is just ********.

He doesn't even look like a linebacker. He doesn't look like anything. I have never seen a pro football player like him. Horrible.

I was praying Dallas would draft Thomas Howard (went to Oakland). While he has found success there in Oakland in the 4-3, I'm not sure how he would have done in the 3-4, though I think better than Barbiegirl

I was hoping this order for ....

Kamerion Wimbley, Cromartie, Lawson, Bobby, then howard....

I didnt think he was so soft...

Are you aware that releasing him would result in an accelerated salary cap hit, essentially wasting about $3 million bucks in more "dead money" for a team that does not have a lot of excess 'cap space? We would then have to sign another ILB to replace him, and pay them at least a million bucks or so which would bring the total cost of releasing/replacing him to close to $4 million?

In the "real world" you cannot just drop players willy nilly.

The reality is that since parcell's drafted him so highly, he ended up getting a considerably larger, and longer term, contract than he deserved, and by doing so we virtually assured that we would be stuck with him for at least 3-4 years.

Of course, when you sign 1st rounders you usually aren't to worried about being "stuck" with them.

It is easy to blame Jerry, but when one considers all the facts at hand, that position probably isn't terribly well founded IMO.

As I pointed out, Carp was supposed to be a safe pick. Somuch for safe picks.
There are NO drafting genius's out there: every one of the so called best ones still blow at least 1/3 to 1/2 of their picks.

As much as Jimmy has been praised for his draft, the only reason we got so many good players is the number of picks we had. Jimmy washed out at least half of his picks and usually more. BUT when you have so many even a poor percentage will net you a good number of players that contribute. Now Jerruh from 95 to 02 pretty much STANK it up.

That's pretty funny..

Well.. this year he has Kevin Burnett as the standard that he has to achieve... kind of sad that we have to hope that a first rounder is able to achieve solid backup status. Either way I think he is gone next year or maybe in the draft if a prospect drops to us.

The last two drafts have been pretty promising though IMHO.

I really find it incredible that everybody here is ok with one of our players dissing another one of our players (and for better or worse, he is one of ours for now) in public like that. The fact that Carpenter sucks is beside the point. You'd think that Bennett would start to get it by now. Yes he's talented. Just think how insufferable he'll be when he gets a bigger contract. If I was Phillips, I'd play that video to Carpenter to motivate him and then I'd reprimand Bennett in front of the whole team, make him accountable for stupid s**t like this (of course Wade would never do that.)

Doubt Wade would do it in front of anyone but I bet someone says something to him. Actually one of the leaders on offense ought to do it. Witten would be a good one to tell him to keep that stuff in house.

Always great to watch how people need scapegods when things aren't going the way they hope they'd go.

Seems like this offseason Bobby will be the one people trample on because they can't get over the bad season we had. Now they need to find something/someone they can laugh and make their jokes about.

Like i said always great to watch who has character and who has not.

Bad thing is that it happens right here on this board.

He's not a "scapegod" for the bad season we had because he didn't play. He's the most worthless player on our team and he's a joke.

It is dead-money either way. Carpenter isn't going to sniff the field and he's wasted space. And no, we don't have to pay another inside linebacker a million bucks. We don't even need to add another inside linebacker. We could get a back-up kicker worth who rides the pine, and he'd be more valuable to this team that Carpenter and you wouldn't have to pay him a million bucks.

We could use a backup kicker for directional kickoffs instead of Barbie riding the bench and playing specials teams like a little girl.

The bad season was only an example.

For some people it's always the same in life. They can't get over something that went bad for them, they can't handle their own feelings, so they need someone to put the blame on.

Sometimes it's calling them names sometimes it making jokes about that person.

Same thing happens right now with carpenter. And that stuff has nothing to do with his bad play. It just tasteless by those who behave that kind of way. It's one thing that a players doesn't plays up to the level people hoped for it's another thing to make jokes about people.

Think about it.
