I don't know if anyone caught this feature before the game, but it was really nice to see.

They showed a young boy, suffering from sickle cell anemia, who loved the Eagles. He can't play football, so his wish (I'm assuming through Make-a-Wish) was to be a coach for the Eagles for the day. The Eagles agreed, and did something really cool for the kid. Andy Reid taped a bit during a press conference, announcing the kid as a new offensive coach. He got the royal treatment, rode on the team bus to the practice fields, and all sorts of gear.

When he arrived, Reid took him into his office, got him ready, etc. Then, he got to stand at the end of the tunnel, and say hello to the players as they walked past. (Hilarious moment....as Brian Westbrook and Tood Pinkston walk down, the kid gasps, "BRIAN WESTBROOK!!!!" completely ignoring Pinkston. Pinkston tries to get some love, and Westbrook shoves him out of the way. So Pinkston gives the kid some gloves. Not like he needs them or anything....)

McNabb, as much as I can't stand him, was great with the kid, who obviously loves him. The kid broke them down, with the whole team huddled around him. It was a really, really great thing the Eagles did. I can't stand 'em, but that was awesome.

I have a good friend of 23 years who suffers from sickle cell anemia.

Classy thing the Eagles did, but they're not the only organization that does these type of things.

No doubt. I'm sure alot do it. I just enjoyed seeing that, no matter the motive. The kid was overjoyed.

That whole clip is from last year (I think). I wish I had recorded it, but I am almost certain that they show TO coming down the hallway, and wasnt it Pinkston who gave him the gloves.

But it was a classy thing for the organization. Unfortunately most of the fans though...idiots.

Next time Irvin has to go to Philly he should wear all his rings, when they start to chant Irvin Sucks and other moronic crap like that, he should just hold up his bling and do a shhh finger in front of his face.

That and the sign they showed on TV from the idiot fan, regarding TO was the typical behavior that so many Philly fans seem so proud of.

I think he should just show them to Tom Jackson who hates Irvin and the Cowboys. Probably because the Cowboys dominated the Broncos in SuperBowl XII. :laugh1:

I'm almost positive it was from training camp.

Irvin knows he owns those guys. He and the rest of the Boys dynasty are deep in their heads. I'm sure he just thinks it's funny.

Yeah. I can't wait for that hush to come over that pathetic fan-base again this sunday, as Roy houses another McNabb duck.

Apparently that was taped during the preseason because thats when I saw it initially. All of those make a wish segments are heartwarming classics.

I'd like to see a greater emphasis on this style of reporting. Contrary to most of the medias perception of things, alot of people still watch and play sports for the positive influence it has on their lives. I'm not sure where that fact became lost on them, but they need to get back to realising this common truth ... and the quicker the better.

I have nothing against Eagles players really. With the roster turnover that goes on in this day and age it's hard to hate a group of players. It's the fans that will constantly remain a bunch of.... words that I can't post on this forum.
