Two weeks in a row now an opponent has been fined for a blatant cheapshot right out in the open for all to see, but amazingly wasnt flagged during the game.

I wish it was more. It seems like every QB/WR is protected except for the Dallas Cowboys. They better not pull this crap or else I am taking a trip to Philly and I guarantee they won't like it.

When will the league realize that 5K to these guys is literally like pocket change to us?

Yeah, as far as conspiracy theories go, it does seem a little odd that they refs keep missing cheap shots against the Dallas players lately.

Someone needs to get this guy back tomorrow. That was total BS.

It's the second time this season Ron Winters has allowed it.

That was one of the cheapest, dirtiest hits I've seen in a long time, especially on a QB. The way QBs are protected these days, not calling that was absolutely inexcusable.

It was clear to me the Eagles were trying to hurt him for the next week, and they almost got away with it.

By my memory, roughing the passer is rarely called on Cowboy opponents. I was shocked to see it last Sunday. Does anyone have stats on that?

And that was a pretty weak call imo. Maybe letting the later one go was the ref evening things up.

It wasnt weak, the guy contacted his facemask/helmet. Its an automatic penalty.

and ... I've said this before .. it is on Wade to go ****ing bat **** crazy when that happens. I have noted repeatedly that you are not working the present ref crew but you are working the next batch. This is especially important when you are going to be facing the same opponent again and you've got one of the better officiating crews in the league coming in (Hercules might have screwed up last year, but his crew is better than most). You have to make a big deal of this on the field and later in the week to the league - if you work it right, it buys calls later on.

I hate "automatic" penalties.

There was some very light contact and since it happened they had to call it.

Still pretty weak imo.

If the same thing was called against us I'm betting there would be some fan reaction.

The uncalled one was far more blatant and dangerous.

No because we understand the rule.

he did that after the first washington game, what did that get him, an apology from the league, big deal, if you lose a game but was cheated from the poor job by the refs you still lose, just because we win doesnt mean the league can sweep it under and thats what they did. SO what would going Bat crazy on a league and a league leader who doesnt care going to do?

i believe it is his first fine of the year. so unless a guy has a history of doing things he gets the smallest amount.

I'd also argue that 5k isn't "pocket change" to a player like Clemons who doesn't make a ton of money. It isn't a huge sum that's taking food off the table, but it is a substantial sum.

remind me what the issue in Washington ....

You really think the the commish doesn't care what goes on in the league? I think we have a commish who has shown over and over that he doesn't tolerate any BS. But we also have a commish, who unlike you, realizes that there is a collective bargaining agreement that limits the sort of actions the league can take for certain infractions.

That's the type of statement that will bite you in the arse for sure if it was made part of a signature.

I understand the rule friend.

It was still a weak call when viewed from the perspective of the danger it posed to the QB. As in none.

The same stuff is called against us, quite often. The problem is usually they dont reciprocate the picky calls. Like those two really weak holding calls on us that wiped out big plays by Felix Jones last week.

For a LONG time, there have been pretty significant discrepencies in the number of holding calls for and against us, as well as things like PI and illegal contact. Its also comical some of the dirty hits we've seen go uncalled on our guys this yr.

I agree.

Took about a half hour for the dogs to come back in the room after that weak holding call that brought back the big Felix gain.

Don't know that it was weak -- it was dumb, certainly, and the hold had no bearing on the play, but it was a hold. Romo saw it and started chirping at Cricket immediately, so there was something there.
