Interesting. Can't say that I would hate it if we took him in a trade down.

Interesting. It's becoming pretty clear now that the team is interested in another WR and RB.

If the value is there, go for it! I don't trust Austin to play a whole season and this team needs speed in the worst way.

I have been saying all along I think a skill guy gets picked early, including TE. As for Hopkins, he is on of best WRs in the draft IMO.

Maybe they are thinking about moving on from Miles (my hammy hurts) Austin after the draft. The guy is good for either missing or disapearing from 2 to 4 games a year and isnt worth what he makes.

What would be the CAP hit to either trade or cut him?

Stay away from wr until round 6 please.

WRONG type of mentality during the draft.

You don't stay away from a specific position if a player of that position falls to your team and they are without a doubt the best available player on your board so much so that it is not even close to the other positions.

This is the idiotic mentality of going with need that has got the cowboys in trouble over the years with the likes of Tony Dixon, Quincy Carter, Dwayne Goodrich, Kareem Lattimore, Julius Jones and a slew of other names where they went in with a mindset of a specific position that did not match the value on the board.

Exactly.

The offense was terrible last year and couldn't make a big play to save their lives (unless Dez was involved). Austin is unreliable. Our other WRs have no starting potential. WR is absolutely a need on this team. All the guards in the world are not going to enable Danny Coale and Dwayne Harris to outrun a top-flight CB.

Not to mention, the team needs talent across the board. If the right skill position player is available in the first 3 rounds--at any position save QB--they should be considered.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Truly!

Where would he go? Late first, second. I would'nt do it unless we traded down and picked up more picks.

Seems many are projecting him as a late first to early second rounder.

He would be a great talent. Too bad Tony would be too busy picking up his teeth to get him the ball.

Hopkins put up really good numbers at Clemson. I doubt Hopkins will be in a Cowboys Jersey come August but if he did end up here, Watch Out NFC East

He's my undervalued receiver in this draft. I liked him a lot in college. He was always making big plays, I always wondered why he didn't get more pub.

BUT, this team needs O-Line, D-line, and Safety help before we touch anything else.

Hopkins ran a 4.57 in the combine. He is no different than the guys we have. His other 40 times are hand timed and unreliable.

Real Fast guys with real 40 times:

Marquise Goodwin 4.27
Tavon Austin 4.34
Ryan Swope 4.34

Draft one of these guys!

He might have a slow 40 but he's not slow. He manages to get behind people and he often gets the ball when its up in the air. I'm not a huge fan but he is a pretty good WR and will probably be a good WO in this league putting up decent numbers as a 2.

I can. I'd hate it if we took him in a trade down.

WR is in no way, shape or form a need. It would be idiotic. Yes, Idiotic - To draft one before the mid rounds.

Drafting a WR would just be a clear cut sign Jerry has "Jedi Mind Melded" with Al Davis' spirit.
