The Browns will interview recently fired Jets coach Eric Mangini either late Tuesday or Wednesday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Mangini joins a list of potential candidates including Pats OC Josh McDaniels, Giants DC Steve Spagnuolo, Titans DC Jim Schwartz, Ravens DC Rex Ryan, and Cowboys OC Jason Garrett. Despite Mangini's role in "Spygate," a league source believes he could work alongside Patriots GM Scott Pioli if both were brought in. Mangini's New England ties may also allow Romeo Crennel to stay on as defensive coordinator.

Sigh. Garrett probably will get a job elsewhere and it will probably come back to bite us.

I wish Jerry would at least LOOK at Spagnuolo :(

He may turn out to be one heck of a Head Coach.

But our time is now. We need experience calling plays.

I have no doubt he will mature as a play caller but we don't have time to go through his growing pains.

Our window is open right now and we don't have time to wait.

This is like a 5-19 Chizik getting the head job at Auburn. No damn sense in some of these hiring decisions.

one of the few times that I've rooted for Garrett all year

You weren't rooting for Garrett to succeed all year?

when I wasn't beside myself, yes

So you were actively pulling for the team you root for (and the team you've spent 35,000 posts discussing) to fail?

who knows? he'll prob work better and can design better schemes and plays if he wasnt dealing with players whose egos are the size of texas.

maybe a scenario where he knows and feels he's truly the boss and no one is above him except the owner would help him greatly. here, his boss is TO and they both know it.

i wonder if he's thinking regrettably now about the ravens hc job he turned down.

Hmmmm he might interview for two jobs this offseason at least. Sweet.

I say he interviews for more than two. There are 7 coaching vacancies now, and I would bet it's 9 before it's said and done.

It would not surprise me if any or all of these teams interview him along with Cleveland and Detroit:

St. Louis Rams
KC Chiefs
Buffalo

I bet the Jets even bring him in since he's an East Coast boy and was with the Giants for a while.
