I think this is one of the players my good buddy Iceberg was so upset that we did not sign him...hindsight, I guess?

Anyway, had we signed him there is no telling if he would have ever hurt his knee. Maybe if he would have come to Dallas, Parcells would have had him wear those knee braces and maybe the injury would not have happened.

Kinda like the Rivera situation...I had real high expectations for him because he was a good player for GB, but, he hurt his back right off and never had the chance to be effective...

I've been expecting to hear something like this for a while -- his knee was really torn up AND he got a serious staph infection in it - I doubt know much about staph infections but I'm going to guess that they don't help you heal.

Tough break. Let's all try not to be happy about this.

Too bad about Bentley. I really think he was a promising young player. This sounds like his career is probably over as you said.

or maybe he drives by a gentlemans club at 4:20am and it explodes sending lingere out into the highway and a dozen g-strings clutter his windshield and he veers into the wall because he can't see and loses 3 toes in a freak accident after that.

or maybe he finds alternative religion and becomes "lady bentley" and gives up football.

we have no way of knowing what would happen if he were here, so it's kinda pointless to go WHEW! as if the same thing would have happened.

overall, sucks for bentley - hope he's saving his $.

I also was upset that we didn't sign him (whether we had a chance to or not is irrelevant) but as it turned out it was a good thing.

Sucks for him but hopefully it will just help Cleveland to have the worst record in the league.
