Clutch Prescott

Actually, I didn't realize it either until I went to a Giants forum yesterday to see their reactions to a game and saw this posted by a Giants fan. Trent Dilfer has a SuperBowl and finished with a 58-55 record........ just saying :muttley:
Mark Rypien was 47-31, with a SB MVP and 8 playoff games.....Stats are great. lol

Soup, I’ve seen you here enough to know you’re a legitimate fan and I’m not questioning that.So help me understand because you seem reasonable unlike some of the other very emotional anti-Dak fans.

Are you so dug in that you’re actively rooting against your team? That’s no loaded question. I’d like to get into the psyche of this group because it’s interesting.

His NFL career stats and wins say he’s pretty damn good. I know for damn sure he made a horrible Miss St. Team very good by himself. Maybe he’s good?

I agree. I expect more from dak because I've seen him do more before, like in 2016. Why he went partially off track after that is what has baffled me.

Even if a coach wants you to change into a pocket QB that doesnt mean take sacks and force other boneheaded mistakes just to please them.

Dak not getting that it's ok to shy away from that and play his game is what has sent me on rants lately. Nobody has that much control over a player where he is afraid to be him. Dak imo has the upper hand over both Garrett and linehan, and dak being dak makes this team win.

No I dont root against them. Cmon C, you know this team more than not over the years will fold at any point regardless of what they do. Whether it's a losing season or losing in the playoffs after a great regular season.

We have had the inability to put it all together since the 90's and that bugs me. That's part of where my rants come from.

Do I want Dallas to beat Seattle? Hell yeah. But once again a worry about the defense presenting problems. Oline issues, dak on the big stage, coaches being more creative during the regular season, coaches sticking with what works.

When I say Seattle happens its referring to fans being happy during the now, but when Dallas has mailed it in in the past fans go back to questioning dak and the coaches, same how it was with romo.

I dont want Seattle to happen, I want Dallas to stomp them, I want dak to get over the hump so he is respected like the Wilson's of the world.

Mostly I want nothing more than to see this forum and fanbase experience another SB. It will be a hard road but if Dak plays Daks game then we can beat anyone.

Dak pleased my fandom yesterday without Zeke and the starting oline. That's all I wanted. To know that he still has 2016 in him.

I feel better heading into the playoffs.

2016

Tyron
Martin
Frederick
Leary

2018

Injured Tyron
Injured Martin
No Frederick
Rookie CWill or a Sua-Filo that can't pass protect

In 2016 Dak consistently had 5 seconds in the pocket, in 2018 it is consistently 3 seconds or less. THAT is the difference.

Hey you are spoiled just like me. I've seen you in action buddy so let's not get started.

You are a cowboys fan and you are no different! Your **** stinks too.
This team has nothing to do with the 90s, 00s or early 10s

That is just you whining and hoping for the worst

If you can't be excited after yesterday then it really is time to hang it up

You act like he had 5 seconds every snap, he didnt. Dak still had to make difficult throws under pressure. And he did without a problem.

That 2016 team had flaws too and the 5 second oline wasnt enough to get us where we really wanted to be now did it?

And if I remember correctly that oline still gave up sacks in the 2016 game vs the pack.

Not every snap, but he consistently got 5 seconds while this year its consistently 3 seconds.

2018 - Dallas allowed 56 sacks as the second worst total in the NFL

2016 - Dallas allowed 28 sacks as the seventh best total in the NFL.

Dak isn't perfect but the numbers didn't double because Dak forgot how to play football. Ron Leary got a 36 million dollar contract after 2016 and this year we are giving significant snaps to Adam Redmond, who is our 5th string OG. The math isn't hard.

That 2016 line was one of the best in Cowboy history. Way better than this year's.

Defenses do defend us differently now than in 2016. And Dak did hold the ball too long very often on his sacks this year.

But no doubt at all that the line regressed some too.

How can a person talk to someone like you! You obviously didnt read or understand anything in my response to C.

You are still talking about me not being excited over yesterday when you are the one who is assuming I wasnt!

You should have got it just like your QB got it. But you dont get it lol.

Hoping for the worse?! No what you are upset for is seeing a fan like me come around and Express my issues with the team.

I said dak played like crap when I know he has 2016 in him. He proved my point, and you are upset I proved I knew what I was talking about.

So now you call me a troll when I wasnt even talking to you. Shows you are butthurt. Get out of your night&gloomyMan feeling!

Skip Bayless: please do not put Tony Romos name in the same sentence as Dak because he does not deserve to be there

:omg:

Not like you

I expect posters like you to let sarcasm skip right over their heads.

In fact I've seen you bash more sarcastic post only to have another poster put you back in your place.

So is your little "giants by 60" quote shocking to me? Not by the least!

Its a combination of things IMO. Some is on Dak but the major factor is the backups we are playing.

Sua-Filo is excellent on run downs but he was cut because of his pass protection. He is an excellent backup at a low price, but if you are starting the guy you are going to see breakdowns.

Dak should throw the ball away more but his game is execution. You don't get silly interceptions but he will go too far into his reads. Early in Romo's career he had the opposite problem, instead of throwing the ball away he would hang in too long trying to create a big play out of nothing.

Martin and Tyron have both played through injury most of the year, both guys are 70 - 80%. But the biggest factor is that Frederick is one of the best Centers and probably the best in the NFL at blitz pickups. Looney has played well for a backup but he is still a backup. Starting at midseason 2017 teams started run blitzing Dallas constantly to stop Zeke and force Dak into quick reads. Until we traded for Amari the team really had no answer for that.

You know what else happened after 2016? Coaches wanting dak to change and dak causing alot of those sacks himself by having terrible pocket awareness, over thinking, or not thinking at all.

Imo if not for some of those flaws we wouldnt have ranked as bad on sacks against.

Jones could fire anyone or everyone on his staff even if the team won by 1 point or 60 points. It is his choice based on his assessment of them. Why should fans hope for any loss when any loss never guarantees it will grant their wishes?

How many Bengals fans wished for Marvin Lewis to get canned before it actually happened? Did the wish factory finally get their backlog cleaned up?

Sorry for the rant and it is far from being directed at you alone. I just cannot understand the logic of hoping for any loss due to the sincere personal belief rooting and wishing will amount to a guaranteed real life result.

That's ridiculous. Can you name another NFL QB that had pocket awareness as a rookie and then "forgot" it in year three?

Dak left college with a Masters degree but in his third NFL season he forgot everything he learned in his first two years? It can't be the patchwork OL, it has to be the QB's fault!

How do you think Dak plays if the coaches leave him be?

I think Linehan's scheme holds him back but yesterday's game showed that Dak can play well if they want to pass - even when he is facing pressure.

I think Linehan is replaced and the next OC is better suited for Dak's game, but mostly I think Frederick coming back and CWill developing will solve most of these problems for next season .

I agree with a lot of that and it’s all reasonable and part of a good discussion.

Others, not you, are just being hateful and I have trouble understanding it. Stats, wins, facts, don’t seem to matter to them. They seem genuinely mad a Dak.

Have a great new year!
