CMike to start at RB vs. NYG?

Where's the fun in simply saying "I disagree." If everyone did just that, the zone would suck. It is the colorful and subjective opinions that make this one of the better sites to visit. I'm sorry if you don't appreciate my help. But to simply say that the Cowboys have no one to hand off to or throw to is taking your pessimism to a level that I felt needed to be addressed...strongly. If I were to say "I disagree" and left it that you would learn nothing and not have to think about it. You would go on about your day with the pessimistic attitude and might even channel it into hurting other people.

And please don't say your not being pessimistic...and claim to be a realist. Because there is nothing real about anything you said. In terms of what is more likely to happen, teams typically put some kind of points on the board. Look at the scores from this past weekend; not a single team scored less than 10 points. And while TWill and CMike may not make the Pro Bowl, they are certainly capable of putting points on the board. They wouldn't be in the league were that not the case.

As for my "sensibilities" I am not the optimist you seem to think I am. I actually am a realist...and to be honest, I haven't the slightest idea what to expect from the Cowboys against the Giants. It really depends on which Matt Cassel shows up and if the Cowboys defense can live up to the hype.

So if they score no points I get no credit for saying so before hand?

Gotta ask around her sometimes lol.

I half share your pessimism however a couple factors is that tape the Giants have on us will be different then what they will see Sunday. Cassell is a much more aggressive QB then Weeden. That can work for or against us. With our WR corps if Bryant sits im not optimistic. Cassell may be enough to relieve the line and open running lanes. It only takes a couple shots down field to get the secondary playing farther from the line. May or may not make a difference. But this could be a game where we get a surprise performance

Keep talking that way... I need to hear it. I'm not enjoying the pessimistic cloud I've found myself in.

I worry a little about fumbling when it comes to Michael. I hope he isn't fighting so hard for the extra yards that he forgets ball control. Seattle fans on another sight stated that he couldn't get on the field because he fumbled a lot at practice and couldn't be trusted in games. I don't know if that has any truth to it.

You don't see cowboys getting even a fg. You think it's going to be 3-0 lol silly rabbit trix are for kids.

Giants shutting us out lol haha

I'm sure we'll somehow put points on the board but I don't have confidence on outscoring the gnats who I think are a pretty bad team as well.

He has only fumbled once in real games. He did have 1 fumble this preseason.

Actually my point is accurate. We scored points. I was rebutting that. And you cant come up with an answer as to why we wont score. Dez will be back, we have had a week of rest, and a defense that looks like they can close out a game if we can control the clock. Which having a pass threat and RB who can tire out a defense does. But keep being negative. For the record, we scored enough points to win, our defense didn't come thru. Don't blame our offense for putting the numbers up we needed.

I'll believe Dez will be back only when he is actually back. And I always stated the no scoring scenario always included Dez not being in the equation. If he plays, we always have a chance. We have no evidence we have a RB that can tire out a defense so I don't know where you get this stuff. Scoring points is not enough to win unless you outscore the opponent. I don't blame the offence or defense for our shortfalls. We win as a team and we lose as a team.

No, you usually aren't quite so negatively slanted. All of the injuries have put a damper on things though.

Season isn't over yet, so hang in there.

Last year in the first few games Dallas had to come from 21 down against St. Louis and almost lost to the Texans in overtime... they barely won those games and the record could have easily been the same 2-3 after 5 games if not for a couple of lucky bounces. And that was with Murray and almost no injuries.

This year Dallas was close against Atl. and NO., but with all of the defensive injuries, they just couldn't hold up.

Eli Manning
Sam Bradford
Matt Ryan
Drew Brees
Tom Brady

That is a difficult string of QB's to face with half the defense out. At least the two they won were division games.

That's not ideal but with everyone on D getting healthy, things will shape up quickly on that side of the ball.

Speaking for myself, I have just realized it is going to be a struggle and try to enjoy the games best I can. They still could win some games before Tony gets back and unless I miss my mark, I think we are going to end up seeing some really good defense before the year is out.

So you are saying that if we score a touchdown you are going to admit you were wrong? May want to be proactive and say it now then. No way we get shut out. If you actually believe that we will, you haven't been watching this team this season at all.

I did say a turn over or ST might result in some points. I just don't see the "O" moving the ball consistently.

We might not have gotten any better by replacing Murray with Randle and Michael, but we sure got dumber. Between Randle's careless pile jumping and this bozo, I'm sure we have upped our ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

This is no reflection on the new QB. He will need someone to pass the ball to, someone to hand the ball off to and I'm just saying he hasn't got that this week. He has been set up to fail. And Romo is still a month away from playing. Bleak is an appropriate description. Without Dez, I don't know how to fix the passing game. But I do know the running game didn't need to be as dysfunctional as it is. CMike is not the remedy.

I like CMike running style although I think he is a fumble waiting to happen which just kills a good offensive drive. I also feel good about the Oline returning to some glory except for Collins as he still owes his rookie dues, our encounter with Martin was so far from the normal rookie year it was scary how good he was from the beginning. Oline improving no WR's other than Witten and Beasley sounds like we need some defensive help big time...

Randle is a fumble waiting to happen, and he's already proved it in the most fantastically stupid way imaginable.

Thank you for your positive outlook. I want to believe.

The QB's who are left on the Cowboys' schedule are:

Eli Manning
Russell Wilson
Sam Bradford
Jamis Winston
Ryan Tannehill
Cam Newton
Kirk Cousins
Aaron Rogers
Whatshisname Fitzgerald
Tyrod Taylor
and
Kirk Cousins

The two that I bolded are really the only guys who are game changing QB's... and the choice of Eli could actually be second guessed pretty easily.

Wilson and Cam are really only a worry if you don't guard against their scrambling. You could put Tyrod Taylor in there for his legs but he isn't as good a passer as the other two.

Bradford is only noteworthy because he is in Chippie's offense and you never quite know what you're going to get.

Cousins is just better than Griffin, but he still isn't good. Fitzgerald and Tannehill would probably fit in this category... with Tannehill maybe a tad better than Cousins and Fitz.

Winston has a long way to go before he's anywhere close to a QB to worry about.

So, for the most part, the really good QB's on the Dallas schedule have already been played against for this season. With the defense getting healthy and no longer playing against hall of fame QB's, there will be a lot of chances to win even before Romo gets back.
