Our fans are loud enough. They are classy people who are there to watch the game and cheer when good things happen. They are not insane drunkards who are chucking batteries and trying to get in fights in the stand with anyone in an opposing team jersey.

This preposterous mythos that we need a 100,000 person Dog Pound to have an effect is just ridiciulous. The place will be fuller in regular season games and the cheering will be loud enough.

If you want to be surrounded by foaming-at-the-mouth drunks who scream for 3 hours straight, then go be a Phily fan or something.

Our fans are loud enough. I wish everyone would quit whining about this.

Screw that. I would HATE THAT. The reason why college games are that way is because they are full of frat-tastic IDIOT college kids who have been drinking for 10 straight hours and have no idea what is going on besides yelling indiscriminately. Once you grow up, you realize how pathetic and obnoxious that kind of behavior is.

I'll take the class of Cowboys fans--where I can take my kid and who are still plenty loud enough to have an effect on the game--over the disgustingly drunken madhouses that you see at college games (or at Philly games for that matter).

If you want to get bombed and yell at the top of your lungs, go to a karaoke bar.

There is a distinct difference between "cheering"--which is what occurs at a Cowboys game--and maniac foaming-mouthed screaming--which is what everyone wants.

People who act like it is an opera at Cowboys games don't know what the hell they are talking about. There is plenty of cheering.

But what the argument always has been is that some people want raucous, earth-shaking cheering (like at the LSU game mentioned) which is almost exclusively the result of drunkenness.

The distinction is obvious to anyone who has been to both.

I thought the same thing. He keeps mentioning drunks, but i yell and cheer sober. You don’t have to be drunk to know how to clap your hands and encourage your team. The word “classy” makes me imagine people golf clapping.

I was at the last game against the Niners. Nobody cheers proactively...ie to cause false starts/make it hard for the QB to hear. They are more reactive to things.

I don't drink and I holler at the games cheering my team on, it is a game not a funeral and sometime people act like that. Chatting with friends instead of watching the game. Everyone pays for their ticket and can do what they want but yes I would like to see some enthusiasm hell it is shameful when a coach has to ask fans to be loud for a game you should want to

I have been to games where the crowd has been good I have been to the game where people sitting on their hands, hell you can do that at home. If you go to a game let the team know you are there. You are full of it most of those people at LSU games are not drunk they are excited about their team and show it instead of acting like some stuffy stiff in the stands.

well im gona be there on the season opener at home and you guys can rest assured that i AM going to lose my voice that night. hope everyone else does also bcus not only is it going to be a good team vs a division rival but also history as being the first home regular season game.

I have season tickets, and cheer at the games.....I am a real fan, and always have been....at the game or on my couch or at the bar.

So you can't say we are all uppity at the stadium.....

actually i would like it if we would make noise on every down and not wait till 3rd down.
i also blame the stadium announcer and whoever runs the video boards and chooses when to play music, make announcements. it seems like whenever
the fans need to start making noise the stadium does something to distract
their attention.
since i am talking about it, we could also start making the noise just a bit sooner, there is no rule that says you have to wait until the opposing team
breaks the huddle and starts for the line before you are allowed to scream
your fool head off.
and before anybody asks, yes i do go to the games and yes it has been loud before but that doesnt mean we cant do better !

oh yeah it would be great if they never show that insurance commercial
where people are singing....feeling kind of sunday in a la-la-la voice.

i know how we can have a better year. be undefeated at home! imagine that. 8-0! if we're able to be undefeated at home then odds are we just need to win three or possibly two on the road and we make post season! i've noticed us dallas fans are not too much of cheerers unlike the scum**** at ny or philly. we should take advantage of our new stadium and not only fill it up to cap but be the loudest ever w/ hopefully 100,000+ present! now THAT really is a home field advantage. cmon guys cheer on that 3rd down! (when the opposing team has the football tho!).....

Yeah, I attended that Steelers game. It was disappointing.

But it is too early to say that the crowd noise at the new place will be the same as the old place. Much has changed (bigger crowds, more cheap seats, different acoustics. a different "fan experience," etc.).

The Saints crowds weren't known as loud before the Super Dome. Since the Super Dome, that crowd often has been a factor. The Seattle crowd is more of a factor since their new stadium too. There is hope.
