I'm thinking this is my top 5...
1. Green Bay -- They just seem to be the most balanced, both offensively and defensively. That defensive front 7 really impressed me and Rodgers looks to be everything I thought he'd be...which I why I drafted him for my FF team while Tom Brady was still on the board.
2. N.Y Giants -- They also seem to have a tremendous amount of balance on both sides of the ball. They can pound the rock, have a lethal D-line, and a QB who is very competent and can spread the ball to his relatively young, but talented receivers.
3. Pittsburgh -- Some respect is given to the reigning SB champs and their defense picked up right where it left off. They get knocked down a couple of pegs right now, mostly because of losing Polamalu, but also because their running game is cause for some serious concern. Still, Big Ben has me convinced, that guy is a baller.
4. Tennessee -- They probably should have won that game against Pittsburgh. Best record in the AFC last year and their defense is also incredibly sturdy, even after losing Haynesworth. Great running game and a competent, SB-experienced QB who has been through some wars against the likes of the Steelers and Ravens.
5. New England Patriots -- Yes, they stole a win against Buffalo, but I think some of that had to do with the Bills very inspired play. The Bills are actually pretty good. And Tom Brady is looking suspiciously like the NFL's MVP again, after a slow start. He elevates the Patriots ranking all by himself.
I put the Cowboys around 8 or 9 right now. Yes, their offense is explosive but giving up 450 yards to a middle-of-the-road Tampa Bay offense is not good. Yes, I've heard the reasoning given by Phillips, Brady and Hamlin, but we've ALL heard that noise before. Prove it.
