Coaching Staffs lack of confidence in Dak handcuffing him

This couldn't be further from the truth. They let him push for FG range before the half when sitting on a 7 point lead was reasonable. He threw 37 passes I believe. We just didn't execute. Dak held the ball and he's accountable for some of those sacks. The two int's I put on Dez. I've always been a big proponent of getting Dez involved early in games.

Dak played poorly against the Giants.

But the repetitiveness of the play-calling on first and second down isn't lost on me and it apparently isn't lost on defensive coordinators because opposing defenses are selling out to stop the run on 1st and 2nd down.
I think most of the time the giants knew what we were going to do and were ready for it.
They know jg and linehan pretty good.

It was high, and towards the end of the season the same thing happened and the offense bogged down.
Didn't we average 41 points a game in December?

I seem to remember that Murray was somewhat bogged down at the end, a combination of wear, defenses and injury... but we flipped the switch on Romo from game manager to MVP and he had something like 15 TDs and 1 INTs for the month.

It looks like our current QB only came with the game manager setting.

He can throw the ball downfield anytime he wants to. Receivers are down there. It's up to him.

Please learn something about playcalling. Coaches don't decide where the QB throws the ball. The QB does.

I'm not easily offended so I'll let that pass. When I have a game manager and a very good defense I call games similar to the way Linehan and Garrett has done with Dak. That's fine when most of your opponent's are under 500 and your winning. But when your defense holds a division rival to ten points and you loose with an ugly vanilla game plan you need to question why ? They need to quit playing not to loose and open up the game plan. 2-25 on third down is not cutting it. Nor will it going forward. Garrett n Linehan are getting to comfortable. Let's get a little creative and look like we are actually trying to win instead of looking for any excuse to play Romo or play him. Either way play to win.

Where did the bootleg passes on first down go? I think we ran those like 7 weeks in a row and nobody ever stopped them.

Well if you cut half of the playbook out for fear of player's possible mistakes, then why the hell is he starting over a guy that knows the offense like the back of his hands and has much more experience and statistical superiority?

Fear of media reaction ? Fan backlash if Romo plays poorly ? That's a person's thinking who has no stones. Open up the game plan or play Romo decide quickly.

Well, when you call a pitch on 3rd and 11 with the game on the line, you have to wonder what is going on.
I know it's a big if but if that one guy was blocked Zeke had an army of Cowboys in front of him. Just poor execution by the players

Dak's handcuffs are self-inflicted. He holds the ball forever. He's a rookie. That's what they do.

He was holding the ball because receivers weren't getting open. Collinsworth was calling it all night.

Sometimes you have to throw receivers open. You've watched Romo do that for years. Open in the NFL is not the same thing as open in college.

He had a bad game. It happens. Looks what Breeze, Rothersburger and Russell Wilson did yesterday. My god that was 11 picks by what was considered to be some of the best in the league. It happens sometimes. I will say that what he needs to do better is if nothing is there get rid of the friggen ball quicker. Also when he is pressured heavily his mechanics seem to turn to mush. Let's see how he plays the next two weeks when he's playing in a dome. Me thinks he hasn't played a lot of cold weather games in his life. SEC isn't the Big 10 as far as weather goes.

Maybe, but that's a low percentage play on that down and distance. Lower than, you know, throwing the ball, but I guess they decided it wasn't worth the risk of a turnover.

Do you guys realize that Eli played just as badly as Dak last night? Worse if our guys could catch free INTs.

Furthermore, we were on the road against a divisional opponent who is also a strong playoff team this year.

Why is the sky falling?

Keep making excuses because the games don't get easier...especially come playoff time.

This team should be thinking SB and if Dak keeps playing the way he has the past few weeks this team won't win a playoff game.

Give him one more game and if he stinks it up he goes to the bench.

Need to simplify the offense even more! Let's face it, Dak is not gonna improve much from this right now. He's a rookie, we can't expect him to. We just have to adjust and keep putting him in easier positions. Instead of having him be a sitting duck in the pocket trying to make reads like he's Peyton, we have to turn him into a running QB, especially on early downs. The 3rd and longs give him no chance, especially if we predictably hand it off to Zeke on 1st for no gain and then throw an incomplete pass on 2nd and 10. I did a quick count and we were 0-12 on 3rd and 5 or longer.

Not even expecting a big gain because defenses aren't gonna let him run for 1st down every time but if he gets 4 yards then it's a success. He is gonna take some more hits per game but we'll just have to live with it.

There are a lot of tells in this offense as well. Every time they put Williams in motion, closer to the LOS last night, the Giants ran Collins into the box, they knew it was going to be a run.

Yep, many connected to the offense last night had bad games.
