Cocky Andy Reid: Terrell Owens... all we did was man up on him.

Ed Werder is talking about how cocky Andy Reid came off during his Press Conference after the game when discussing Terrell Owens.

When asked about Terrell Owens, Reid was like (paraphrase), All we did was man up on him and didn't do anything special.

Saying it like Lito Sheppard shut him down by himself and they didn't focus on Terrell Owens.

I bet they doubled him more than he is letting on during the game.

Not many can man up on Owens.......surely not sheppard......their CB's like many are only good with a pass rush....

romo played like crap w/or w/o a thumb injury and missed a majority of passes. it happens and i'm sure it will happen again. hopefully no time soon...but it will.

Romo typically hits TO on those TD passes. Philly is lucky that Romo had a very bad day (for him at least).

Anyway, I stand by what I originally thought, that the Cowboys and the Eagles are two franchises moving in opposite directions over the medium term.

We'll see how this plays out over the next couple of years.

They were, to provide help on T.O. Dawkins was clearly giving the safety help on T.O. as Aikman pointed out. The safeties were playing deep, and the only receiver on the side of Dawkins was T.O. On the other side, Dallas ran Crayton and Hurd on two deep routes for a decoy. Romo looked left to give a little fake and went to TO. Before Romo even released the ball, Dawkins was making his break to Owens.

Marion was a check down, and Witten ran a short delayed route. They were also blanketed, but it looks like Romo didn't even go to his other progressions. That was a ridiculous throw by Romo.

If you actually analyze the play when you get home, pay attention to the center of the field. Romo could have easily pumped to TO, and ran straight up the field for 30 plus yards. There was nobody in the vicinity.

Romo was really trying to force the issue this game. It was very uncharacteristic of him.

This is what I don't understand. How on earth can Reid feel cocky about anything this year for that weak franchise he coaches.

Reid and Westbrook should feel FORTUNATE that Romo had such a terrible game. It was so obvious he didn't have his normal touch on those throws to TO. Some of those would have went for score if he had.

Then fat bastid Andy would be singing a different tune. He knows it and WB knows it and those weak Philly fans know it.

Romo was just OFF and Eagles rallied to put up 10 pts (should have been 17). WOOO!!

Well to the victor goes the spoils and the trash talking. :laugh2: I'm not going to lose sleep over Reids comments and after seeing his team fall apart this season having a win has to taste pretty good. So I tip my hat to Philly and ready to see the Boys take on Carolina.

I think the reason Reid is actually talking like this is because he knows his job is in jeopardy. Look at these comments as basically saying,

"Next year, we will win the division with me as coach. It didn't take us much to stop this years division champs. We shut down their best receiver without doing much.."

I remember one shot of him huffin on the sideline. I could not BELIEVE how disgusting he has let himself become.
