Just rewatched the game: On the play where Eli goes full brain fart mode and throws the pass out of the endzone, Collinsworth claims Church was mugging a Giants receiver and PI would have been called if Eli had thrown a catchable ball.

I believe that anytime a QB leaves the pocket the DB is allowed to make contact with a receiver. Church made a heck of a play.

A big Thank You to the OP for making Collinsworth the first word of the thread so I could tune out then. Saved me from ready an entire thread in three syllables, a new record!

Yeah so? It wasn't catchable. Bet u can find a ton of calls/no calls watching game tape.

THIS!

Ball was uncatchable. I hate how Collinsworth always finds a way to point out suspected penalties on the Cowboys not being called. Yet when other teams doesn't something flagrant - like that foul in the endzone by Cromartie he turns the other cheek.

Collinsworth was right, but it's not like he said a flag SHOULD have been thrown.

He said a flag WOULD have been thrown if Eli threw it near the TE. But he didn't, because Eli was clearly hell-bent on making every poor decision a QB could possibly make in the last 2 minutes of a game when protecting a lead.

Collinsworth said that. He noted that IF Manning had thrown that way, he could've drawn a flag, but because he just threw it away, there was no flag.

He was. But Eli just needs to run and slide. Take a sack even. He did everything wrong

But had he thrown it that way, it goes differently. That's actually a smart comment. There are so many ways Eli could have made a better play... Run, take a sack, throw near the guy being held. He did the only thing that could possibly favor the Cowboys - toss outta bounds

Collinsworth isn't all that bad, he is 1000% better than he was before he started on SNF. Well, the first few years he wasn't that good, but improved. He changed about the time Dez was drafted to be more positive.
He usually seems to favor the Cowboys IMO for the most part. Not favor, but not a hater like he used to sound.
When everyone was ragging on Dez in his first few years and all the off the field stuff. Which really wasn't an issue. Collinsworth actually defended Dez. Said the Cowboys have something here and he just needs to mature a little bit. And the off the field stuff was nothing to be concerned with.

Now Aikman on the other hand is more biased ugainst us on broadcasts. Though not always as bad as made out to be either.

The TE engaged him as blocker, so Church took advantage and fought the block,,,

I just rewatched the game this morning and that is exactly correct. Play action bootleg, the TE ran into Church and was blocking him. Church was using his hands to disengage.

Hard to believe that every NBC employee directly involved in the telecast missed Moore's late shot on Romo.
