If Brady Quinn is a heisman candidate, this FRESHMAN should be in New York with him and get votes over him.

Just imagine Colt McCoy to Miles Austin for a TD.:D

That statement doesn't mean he will beat out Romo if we draft Colt, just liking the names of the players

27 TD's and 4 INT as a freshman with 2 games to go in the regular season is not too shabby

I like what I've seen so far this year. He has a great career in front of him if he keeps it up.

as a huge Texas fan it has been fun watching him get better every game and today i believe he broke Vince Young's record for TD's IN A SEASON!!!!!!! He's gonna be something next year and if he keeps improving he will join Young as the next texas QB in the NFL in a couple years. He deserves to go to NY for the heismann presentation as a finalist

Only partially right. He broke Vince Young & Chris Simms season TD record at Texas.

The kid has been very impressive.....he has improved in every game he's played. Can you imagine how good this kid can be his Senior year.

Aaron Ross Sr.CB would make a great Cowboy.;)

Colt has been a huge surprise. I expected him to be overtaken by Snead by this time in the season with Texas struggling....but I am damn happy I am wrong. He is a great QB with a great head for the game.

If McCoy keeps it up... ole Snead may not see the field for another 3 years. Doesn't he still have his redshirt available?

I'd love to draft Aaron Ross. I watched him when he played at Tyler John Tyler and I've been a fan of his ever since then. Very talented and has a nose for the ball.

Colt isn't quite in Quinn's class just yet but definitely Colt could end up a Heisman candidate next season and thereafter.
It'll be interesting to see if he plays as well next year.
Sometimes, a freshman is too naive to be phased by the pressure or listen to their own hype. If he keeps his head and the same attitude he has now, he is going to set a ton of records in the next few years.

Their stats are quite comparable.

He isnt in Quinns class as far as blind media love, but as a QB he is just as good

jevon snead will probably transfer. Texas recruited one of the best college QBs in the nation. He's from Florida and is willing to redshirt his freshman year. I think us Longhorns will be satisfied with the QB position for a long time. Hopefully, I can say the same about the Cowboys after this year.

that's just plain silly.
Quinn gets media love because he is far and away the best, most complete, most mature QB in the country that is almost single-handedly making a inferior talented team a top 10.
McCoy could end up having a better college career, maybe even oneday be a better QB, but he's another season from becoming close to as mature back there as Quinn is now.
Plus, I would bet a ton of money that Quinn is running a vastly more complex offense than McCoy is.
Don't think for a minute that I'm insulting McCoy or that I'm a ND fan, I'm neither. But Quinn is clearly a superior QB right now and all season this year.
PS, The Big 12 is also one of the worst conferences in the country this year

McCoy has completed a higer pecentage of passes, more TD's, less INT's and more yards per completion.

Quinn isnt the best QB in the nation because NBC claims he is, and he clearly is NOT head and shoulders above other college players.

The only good thing about this thread is that it will be elsewhere by tomorrow.

homer-alert

stats don't always tell the whole story.

With a rational mind, I don't know who you could say was better or really close....at least if you've seen Quinn play.
Brohm maybe?

but let's entertain your theory, McCoy is as good or a better QB than Quinn...puuulease. Its a ridiculous premise and not worth debating when the truth is so obvious.

I'm sure NFL scouts would disagree with what you're implying, and it has nothing to do with the ND hype machine.

There are a good number of college QBs right now that are better than McCoy....Quinn, Brohm, Leak, Ainge, Booty, Troy Smith...and those are the ones that immediately come to mind. McCoy is an outstanding QB no doubt but give me a break, the Big 12 is god-awful this year. It's also important to remember that McCoy is surrounded with far more talent than 95% of the teams out there.

To imply that McCoy is the best QB is the country is flat out silly. Kinda like a Skins fan saying Washington is a legit contender for the SB this year. Not hardly worth arguing with them.

I'm glad you're not running our scouting dept.
I'm done here.

I go to a UT, and I can admit that Colt plays in a dinky offense against vastly inferior defenses.
