Isn't this guy a UFA at the end of the year. If this guy is the find that I hope he is, we have to get this guy signed. I know there is time, but starter quality RTs aren't cheap these days.

Yes, he is a free agent, I am sure the Cowboys will lock him up sometime during the season. and I am sure that he will want to play for the Cowboys.

Colombo, said, that he would really like to get to the playoffs and play against the Bears.

Both of these guys owe Bill and Jerry big time. Both will get fair deals.

Let's not forget Al Johnson as well -- by all accounts he is having an outstanding camp too. Also a UFA.

We still have Bradie and Romo to sign this year...If Johnson can't fight back into the starting lineup he might be the odd man out on new contracts.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think we're still well below the salary cap right now. With that new collective bargaining agreement, we should have plenty of cap room to sign a lot of these guys up long term. This may be the best time to do that as the salary cap is high, but salaries haven't increased dramatically as a result (outside of DC of course). I think with the great young talent we have, especially on defense, we can lock guys up and if not a dynasty, we'll at least be very competitive for many years to come.

Doubt it -- when was the last time we let even a serviceable player get away?

unless he gets hurt, we are definitely going to resign him.

First priority should be Bradie James. He really came into his own last season and has been playing extremely well in TC 7 seems to be the leader of our defense; it's better we sign him to a long-term contract asap.

We'll wait a few games into the regular season to see how both Gurode & Colombo play & then lock them both up.

There was a report 1-2 weeks ago that we offered Romo a 3 year contract but he wants only a 1 year deal; Stephen Jones will get a reasonable deal done before this year is up.

Johnson is another matter as he simply not the right fit as our starting center & doubt he accepts backup money. Agree he may be odd man out particularly since we drafted E. J. Whitely in the 7th round (can play all 5 OL positions); he was told he'd play center/guard before he got hurt & is now on IR. Given Parcells success rate with late round picks, Whitely looks like the probable man to back up Gurode in the future rather then Johnson.
