That he hasn't visited other places doesn't mean no other team is interested.

I remember him being connected with one of those places. Don't recall if he ever actually visited.

Or it could mean he simply doesn't want to leave.

Right, we're just saying that him not visiting other teams doesn't mean there's a lack of interest.

While teams may have some interest, he's not going to get many offers without visiting a team and passing a physical by team doctors.

This is a kid with first round talent that suffered a career-threatening injury. By all accounts he is on the road back and played pretty well for us last year...

On another level, Davis is a top notch OG, but a sub-par OT...

We need Colombo back at RT...

Its very likely that other teams hear the outrageous contract requirements made by his agent and decide not to bother bringing him in for a visit.

All the info these days is pointing towards his agent asking for way too much money... which would immediately turn teams off.

when was the last time we franchised a player? I don't think Jerry likes to go down that road, as he's a player's GM and usually tries to work things out instead of getting into long-drawn disputes

Cuz then we're paying him something like $6 MIL for 1 year instead of potentially paying him $7 mil for 2 years (which I believe is the current offer being extended to him).

Because the 2 year contract they're offering him ($7,000,000) is actually cheaper than the single year pay he would have received if he was franchised ($9,556,000).

It would seem that he is/was our little restoration project.... he is ours whether we pay him or not....

He/we could see his comeback through... or... he could be stubborn and sign somewhere else for ??
