The lack of OL in FA may be a sign that Rivera's back is healed and Columbo is looking good...Just an opinion.......

I hope we aren't putting our trust in Columbo right now.

Rivera will be much improved this year. He's a proud player and realizes he didn't play well last year. He just didn't have the strength due to his lack of work in the offseason because of the back. I think Cowboy fans will be pleasantly shocked at his high level of play next year.

I wouldn't expect much from Columbo...

we'll draft a RT on day 1 and more depth / projects on day 2.

Rivera is old as dirt and gimped. The guys we picked up this FA period are all stop gap, short term players.

Why so much Columbo love?

If he even makes the team it would be a huge surprise.

Kosier is not a stop gap, short term player.

There hasn't really been a lack of OL in FA for us. We signed 3 guys as you should include Gurode with Fabini and Kosier. But I'm also for drafting an OL first day.

Maybe he'll develop into a real starting guard for us but at this point......

uh yeah, he is.

Before we signed him he was an unkown. None of us know if he's capable of filling that need atm.

Unknown to us. To coaches and scouts he was known. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Columbo is a former first rd pick that was well regarded at the time. It all comes down to whether he can make it all the way back from his injury. If he does he could very well be a long term starter; if not, its not like we used a pick or much money on him.

I fyou had bothered to look, you would have noticed that we moved FAST to get him- there were at least 6 other teams interested.

whatever helps you sleep at night.

Fact is, he was a B list free agent. If he was so in demand he would have lasted longer on the larket as other teams bid for him.

He took the first offer that probably came his way.

LOL... cowboys fans bitten by the homer bug, its funny.

Actually, you have no clue how long he would have lasted, and being an A-lister or B-lister or whatever has no bearing on such a determination.

You're "probably's" are just that - a guess at the unknown.

The fact is, he's 27, he's been in the league for four years, and signed a 5 year contract. Therefore, he's not a short term, stop gap solution for the 'Boys.

Very interesting. I'm sure Rivera's proud. I'm sure he knew he stunk it up last year.

But whether he has the ability to return to Pro Bowl form is another matter. There's not much upside to a 30+ year old player.

If anyone starts with the "best years of an OL-man is in his 40's", I'm gonna scream.

Adam Shefter(nfl.com/nflnetwork) stated before the FAgency period that eight teams were after Kosier and that he would get money that would surprise people.

Gil Brandt gave Dallas kudos early on for signing Kosier and Ayodele.

So there were many teams tripping over themselves tring to sign the guy?

it was said that 8 teams were interested in him, and we'll never really know because we signed him the 1st day FA began

Either do you.

Did you know who Kyle Kosier was before we signed him? I rest my case.
