He was also in on that last minute TD drive to Campbell to make it look more authentically like a run play. So the guy is getting a little taste of life back in an NFL game. Although he's in his 4th year, he's essentially a rookie; only played in the 4 preseason games in 02 and started at RT the first 6-1/2 games before being injuried. Didn't play again until last 2 games of 04 season. The guy has the talent to be top frlight OT; read his 02 profile and it was great. Opening sentence in evaluation stated he had no weaknesses except needing to increase srength which of course he would have done in 03 conditioning program. We probably won't hear much about him until late March/April when Parcells might allude to him re offseason conditioning program. It's worth the effort & won't cost Cowboys much. We certainly need any improved play we can get on this OL in 06. But of course when knee injury includes some nerve damage coming back if at all is tough.

I wonder if any of our resident MD types could comment on Columbo's injury and what the real chances are for him to come back. He's a young guy and I know nerve damage takes time to heal. Does all of the strength return eventually?

The Columbo and the guy from Atlanta (what'shisname) are interesting choices. It's clear that Parcells and Jones are making these in preparation for next year. They are mining every place they can to get talent. I wonder where the idea for this came from? It's not something I have seen too much of in the past so it seems like a deliberate change. Is this true or was I overlooking these types of moves in the past?

Excellent question .... I wish I knew the answer as well. I would think the chances are good that he would eventually regain full strength.

Parcells was asked whether that guy from Atl is an OLB or a DE..Bill said you let me worry about that...I guess that means he doesn't know yet but then he would have been questioned as to why he signed him if he doesn't even know what position he plays...but like I pointed out in another post the guy is from Hackensack, New Jersey so Bill may know something about the kid...Heck he might be our next FB or TE..who knows

It is a good question...but I would think that the Boys would not have even invested thier time if there was not some chance that it would return..

I agree.....I liked the signing of Columbo. He could very well be starting in the very near future and the best thing about it ....he was one of those KMart specials. :D
