Commanders are Starting Cousins Just to Increase His Trade Value

I'm not buying the Commanders reasoning for shutting down RGIII. I'll guarantee you the Commanders management took one look at our defense and decided that they could parlay the pick of backup quarterback Kirk Cousins into a first round pick. What better opportunity to showcase him than with starts against three of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. Atlanta, Dallas and NY Giants. We are giving up an average passer rating of 95.1. If playing against us doesn't net them a first round pick from Cousins nothing will.

in my thinking, Shany is angry at Little Danny and at RGIII. Shany has full control of personnel decisions as called for in his contract (I believe). Shany is sitting RGIII because both dislike each other. And Shany is getting ready to walk. Those reasons and not Cousins trade value (to my feeble mind) are why Cousins is starting.

He'd have done a good enough job making chicken salad out of chicken poop that it'd start an instant quarterback controversy.

I also think this is Cousins audition to be traded. It might be coupled with Shanahan's angst towards a few too but he could potentially get the Commanders an early draft pick that was lost on RGKnee. Highly doubtful a late 1st rounder but maybe a 2nd.

RG3-10 has a larger skill set, but Cousins is more of a traditional QB...a running QB like Griffin is ALWAYS going to get hurt if they are expected to run as much....

A bit exaggerated....Cousins could have three 300 yard games to end the year and still no one would give a first round pick for him.

Washington is weak in so many areas and need players as badly as we do. They'd be happy to get a 2nd or 3rd for him.
