Lance Briggs could finally land that long-term deal he's after, but it might not be with the Bears. The Commanders are said to be very interested in the Chicago linebacker, who complained after being hit with the franchise tag in 2007.

I wouldn't think they would have the cap space but they seem to surprise every year.

There is no way they could afford it. They surprise me year after year - but unless they had some SERIOUS "Not earned cash incentives" - there's no way. Aren't they PROJECTED to have -$6 million?
