Its been a weak FA year so I am not one of the people freaking out because we sign no one....But I also wont pretend that we don't have some holes to fill and the players that look to be available to fill these holes are not good enough to be considered upgrades.
I believe our defense did improve statically...but I also believe a last place schedule combined with Dak, Zeke and a ball control offense played a large part in that statistical improvement.
I don't get why people say we are a team that believes in building through the draft? Doesn't every team participate in the draft? Will the Giants now not try to build their team through the draft because they decided to plug Victor Cruz's hole with Brandon Marshall? Unless we are trading away draft picks then this comment seems to not really apply.

I'm sure we will be ok. We are looking at having some holes on the roster where starting players used to be... How many starters do we really expect to get through the draft?

Got 7 picks, even our great draft last year had 4. Expect less than that.

The cap space will help with future signings, but for 2017.....not good.

Pretty sure it's g

Pretty sure it's going to be Cousins. I don't believe a lot of what I read. Skins would be on another level of stupid to trade him considering he's the best quarterback that team has had since I have been watching football.

Point is, he signed there not even knowing who will be throwing the ball to him. You can't just say they will be a passing team if Cousins isn't on the team.

They have holes. But its been one day in FA. People say this team builds thru the draft because the team has said thats what they plan to do. Fans get mad because the team doesnt do what they want them to do. Are you really going to miss TW, McClain, Church, Wilcox and Carr?
I hope I wont be missing these guys.
I like building through the draft as much as the next guy...I just get nervous when I see several holes in the roster where starters used to be...anyone on the team cant be considered an upgrade when they were sitting on the bench behind the guys leaving. Drafted players can contribute but are a gamble...Especially the later you draft them.

We made a decision to sit idle and let the starting caliber players sign elsewhere so now we need to hope to fill our holes with a combination of rookies and end of the road type of players.

and a team where he can make a difference. The skins werent to far separated from us in talent. This will help them a lot.

I disagree. Our core of players are on another level even though it's not balanced. I would take Dak, Zeke, Dez, Tyron, Fred or Martin over any player on their roster.

Regardless, it's all about money..Pryor is betting on himself. He could've signed a 4 year 35 million dollar contract to give him some security or he could have a big season in Washington and he in line to make 12-15 million a year. He has a starting spot and a chance to be the number one wideout on an offense that loves to air it out.

Face palm yourself.

We get it...you are a fan of hating Jerry. This is your calling card.

We went 12-4 in 2014 and would have ran away with the division in 2015 if Romo and Dez did't get injured. And we ran away with the division in 2016.

If you're going to worry about the Giants signing Brandon Marshall who ought to fit really well with fellow psychotic OBJ, so be it.

If you're going to worry about the Eagles signing Alshon Jeffery who doesn't fit into the WCO, have at it.

And if you're going to worry about the Skins signing Pryor, who even the Browns didn't want and neglect the absolute circus that is going on with their FO...be my guest.

Pryor wanted $10 million plus a season and the Browns didn't want to pay that. Just because they have the cap space doesn't mean that if they don't use it he's not a good player. I heard that they should have matched the Skins offer but didn't because of pride. Living in Cleveland I talk to a lot of Browns fans and see some of their games. Pryor is a legit WR that had garbage QB play.

1 year, $8 mil? That's a bargain for a guy who some around here swore was the next Randy Moss.

This is the only problem I have with sitting out the first week. There are players to be had on deals like this.

Instead, we want to wait for that first wave to end because we think that's the only way to get bargains.

I'm not saying $8 million for one year is a bargain, but it's a fair deal for a no-ties contract.

Our pass rush got worse, and more than half the secondary is gone. Lawrence has back trouble. Gregory is suspended until the apocalypse. Jaylon Smith is going to play with a brace for drop foot. Sean Lee healthy again for a full year?

Tough to fix all that with four high draft picks and a picked-over free agent pool.

This defense could be worse than 2011-13.

If we retain Carr, and Brown continues to progress our CBs will he solid. I dont like losing both Safeties but I actually like Heath and Jones. I still want another CB and Safety because more than anything I feel our depth is paper thin now.

Collins, Irvin and Mayowa may very well continue to improve so I dont feel as our pass rush is any worse.

We are indeed hoping against hope that Jaylon is ready to ball. In addition Wilson looks promising.

Right now its discouraging because we have alot going out and not much coming in but we will fill those spots, hopefully lol.

He's not joking. If Pryor came here he'd be a backup to Brice Butler. That's probably why he's a Commander.

I get the team likes and is comfortable with butler. There's zero chance Pryor would back him up. Zilch. Crazy

Fact. Only wussies who back out of their "predictions" use the term "King's English".

What part of "As things stand..." can you not comprehend?

Run along, little boy. You bother me.

Wait, so you are telling me you were running around here in the 2016 offseason saying "Our 4-12 record says otherwise"?

Just spare everyone the act. We understand you have no interest in reality.

Winning season? Means everything the next season, despite the roster turning completely over.

Losing season? Means nothing, that was just injuries and bad luck.

Wish we had the cap space. Pryor on a one year deal at $8MM? Would have been all over that.

It's a bad indictment if a 1-15 team with a massive boatload of cap space doesn't want a player. You can't spin it any other way outside of incompetence on the Browns part. But, he's going to the Skins so it's not like they are the model franchise of good decision making.

In fact, here's a sneak peak video of the Skins signing process:
