So we are only looking at one year now??? try going back to 2000 on...let me know what you think???
Dallas has the leagues sixth best record in the last 15 years. Best in the NFC East.
Pryor wanted $10 million plus a season and the Browns didn't want to pay that. Just because they have the cap space doesn't mean that if they don't use it he's not a good player. I heard that they should have matched the Skins offer but didn't because of pride. Living in Cleveland I talk to a lot of Browns fans and see some of their games. Pryor is a legit WR that had garbage QB play.
He's legit but has some serious diva potential.

I hope I wont be missing these guys.
I like building through the draft as much as the next guy...I just get nervous when I see several holes in the roster where starters used to be...anyone on the team cant be considered an upgrade when they were sitting on the bench behind the guys leaving. Drafted players can contribute but are a gamble...Especially the later you draft them.

We made a decision to sit idle and let the starting caliber players sign elsewhere so now we need to hope to fill our holes with a combination of rookies and end of the road type of players.
Where are all these holes?

WR? Dallas has Dez Beasley and Butler and add in Witten. is there really a hole?

CB? Yes, But its not bare Dallas has Scandrick and Brown, and i think Claiborne will be back.

DE? Maybe, Irving and Mayowa ended the yr on a tear. I would like for this team to give them the chance to play a whole yr. But i would like for this team to draft more DE's too. Well 1, i really like tapper who is already cleared physically.

DT..yes They need more pressure up the gut.

S? I dont think so Jones and Heath id like that. But i think they need depth.

Hope is not a plan.

I have to wonder what our plan is... I get why we didn't sign an edge rusher...there were non available.
The WR position is a bit more puzzling. There was a good group of WR's who signed for short term deals that would have immediately made us a better team.
Sure its not going to fix the defense....but just like drafting Zeke last season...a good offense does help the defense.

I just don't really see the point of bringing Pryor to Dallas on a 1 year deal.

Also not really a fan of 1 year WR deals, in general, especially when you have a young QB and a deep WR class.

Where are these holes? Really?
WR....if Butler was better than T Will then why was he barely in the games while T Will was playing?
CB...we agree... Claiborne needs to come back now...and Scandrick is on the wrong side of his career.
DE...Irving and Mayowa are decent rotational guys...Tapper? He doesn't even exist at this point. He is essentially a rookie who was never even that highly rated before being injured.
S.....If Heath is better than Wilcox and Church then why has he been sitting on the bench watching them play?

Yeah I wouldn't say we are the worst team in the NFCE today.

The Eagles are hot garbage on defense right now. You think our CB situation is bad? Look at theirs.

Do you know why Tapper fell?

When Dallas needed a play who was in there? Church, Wilcox or Heath?

For a raw physically talented guy who some say is kind of hard to get along with like Prior a 1 year deal is a good way to see if he is worth paying long term.
But I see your point also.
None of us can know how this will end until it ends.

The guy who actually had any football sense was just fired in Washington.

Yeah, we are just hoping the backups play like the starters did. Pretty sad plan, but thats the way it is. Maybe in 2018 we can actually sign someone, even the Pats just did it.

Heath was undrafted, so was Church, who knows. Butler, who knows. Whoever at DE, who knows. Jaylon, who knows. We still only have 2 CBs, who knows. Free is still a starter, who knows.

I do know one thing, we have too many question marks after a 13-3 season.

Wait, so you are telling me you were running around here in the 2016 offseason saying "Our 4-12 record says otherwise"?

Just spare everyone the act. We understand you have no interest in reality.

Winning season? Means everything the next season, despite the roster turning completely over.

Losing season? Means nothing, that was just injuries and bad luck.

Logic appears to be your kryptonite.

Who was going around here saying we were the best team after the 2015 season?

:crickets:

And how many FA's did we sign in the 2016 offseason?

And where did we finish in 2016?

The fact is that we ran away with the division in 2 of the last 3 seasons. And we had a losing season because of 2 major key injuries, to our QB and our #1 WR which are massively important to ANY TEAM.

Take Brady and Rob Gronkowski for almost an entire season and the Patriots are not winning nearly as many games.

Take away Roethlisberger and Brown for almost and entire season and the Steelers are probably sub-.500

Take away Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin for most the of the season and the Seahawks are sub-.500

The only act going on here is you and your so called fandom of the Cowboys when you're just trolling Jerry. We've gotten this act for a long time. If we sign FA's, we're dumb for doing so. If we don't sign FA's...we're dumb for doing so.

If you want to believe that we are worse now than the Eagles, Skins and Giants, just own up to it when it doesn't come into fruition, just like it didn't in 2016 when you predicted doom and gloom for the team.

I assume every Eagles FA move is a guaranteed failure. Its a safe assumption

I have to say that they could say the same thing about us for the last couple of decades.

Winning for one season shouldn't make us cocky, we went to the playoffs and lost immediately.....again.

I know why Tapper fell...I just don't like that it took him a year to get back up... He has done nothing to give reason to count on him for anything...Doesn't mean he wont...but its all just hope.
Beasley is better than T Will but they don't have anything to do with each other since they were both on the field at the same time anyway...
And again if Heath was better and such a playmaker then why was he on the bench so often?

But we aren't out there blowing our wad in FA only to have it blow up in our face year after year after year after year. They may be as bad as Washington was at the height of Danny's spending
