Not that they have much of a chance, but his backup at LT was terrible last night. He is actually a Center and has no business being a LT. They are done.

Commanders tackle Samuels out for the season
Monday, December 08, 2008

ASHBURN, Va. -- Five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Chris Samuels is out for the season with a torn triceps, the latest blow for a Washington Commanders team that has sunk to last place in the NFC East.

Samuels was injured in Sunday night's 24-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Right tackle Jon Jansen was also hurt in the game. He was having an MRI on Monday on his knee.

The Commanders (7-6) have lost four of five, scoring only 33 points in the four losses.

I would love that team to beat the eagles in a 10-7 game and then go out to sf and lose.

The good news for them is that they'll have a 4th place schedule next year...meaning they'll have THE LIONS on their schedule.

Assuming we go 2-1 from here on out, I think it would be better for the Eagles to beat the Redsk*ns, thereby ending the Skins season. Then, if/when we beat the Eagles in week 17, they'll be officially eliminated. Then all we'd have to worry about is the NFC South teams.

But if we lose one more game, and the Redsk*ns find a way to win-out, I think they'd pass us.

I'm actually glad to see him go. All I have heard the whole time we've had him is how wonderful he is. Yeah, if you call getting flagged repeatedly in every single game for the same damn thing (holding) great, than he is great at that. He costs us at least 10 yards a game, has caused multiple TDs to be called back, has cost us first downs and put us out of FG position dozens of times, and all you have to do to get around him is move one step to the left or right, which confuses him and you can go around him.

Perennial probowler, I know. Fan favorite, I know. I don't feel the love though, never have. He pisses me off way more often than he makes me glad we have him. And he's insanely overpaid for the detrement he causes.

Watch some clips of Samuels, and you will notice something common. If someone comes at him straight on, he crushes them. If they make any kind of move at all, even slighlty and almost unnoticeable, he looks confused and stands there with his hands out while he watches them run right by him to crush the QB.

I hope he doesn't come back to DC, we'll be better off replacing him.

Geisinger was forced to play tackle because both Jansen and Samuels were injured. Now that we know Samuels is out we will activate our other backups Fabini and Rinehart. So we'll probably see Heyer at LT and Fabini or Rinehart at RT. Not good, but better than having a backup center at LT.

Fabini was decent when he was with the Jets, but with the Cowboys he was Horrible and I don't think with the Skins he's any better, it looks like the Commanders #1 need next year will be O-Line.

God Help Campbell. At least the injury happened after you knew you weren't going to the playoffs. The way the skins have been playing the last month or so has been horrific.

Ahhhh, then the Lions don't have to worry about going 0-16 again next year... :D

The Skins are going to have a rough finish to the season, that's for sure, with all the injuries to their O-Line.

Annual? You do know that he started 73 consecutive games before the Lions game this year right? It's somewhat difficult to be going down with season-ending injuries annually and play in 73 straight games.

But yes -- we are finished and will not make the playoffs. We will probably finish last in the division...

yep, drafting anything other than Oline and Defensive tackles in rounds one and three would be a big mistake.

you probably could use some corners too

Springs is always hurt/hurting, getting old anyways

Carlos Rogers is just average, above average at most

forget about Hall and Smoot, overrated trash-talkers

I think it's time to let Springs go, but I am very happy with the way the other three have played. Our pass defense has been very good this year, and that's with absolutely no pass rush.

Edit: oh, and I think Springs has played well too, he just can't stay on the field long enough.

:laugh2: You're trippin right? If he could hold on to an INT, he'd be up there with the greatest CBs in the league. His coverage is well above average, that's why so many teams don't even throw at him. He's also the best I've seen at making just enough contact to cause an imcompletion without drawing a penalty.

I couldn't agree more.
