CommonGround: Where Optimist and Realist Agree

I was pondering what the main thing we can all agree on is and the main thing that comes to mind is that Jerry the owner needs to fire Jerry the GM and hire a real football guy to run things. I know this will never happen as long as Jerry's health holds out but this seems to be one of the few things almost everyone agrees on. There may be a few who like Jerry the GM but they are few and far between. I personally don't mind Jerry the owner but wish he would hire a football guy to run things. Any thoughts on this issue or anyone who believes Jerry is a good GM?

I think it's a dead issue quite frankly... And I can no longer work up enough energy to debate the topic from one perspective or the other.

I wasn't looking for a debate rather seeing if we can all agree on this even if it is not going to change any time soon.

WHAT?!?!? You can not muster enough energy to debate or talk about this topic for 1000+th time. :)

Well the board seems really split lately making everyone unhappy. There is bickering in almost every thread. I did not want to start a debate rather I just wondered if we could all agree on something?

The coaches have much of the blame for not developing players and getting them ready to play. And the training staff dealing with injuries, get blame too. In other words, the entire organization from top to bottom.

I think we all come together and agree that would be the best scenario, but it wont happen. For me personally, Im done with Garrett. We dont have to start there, but its one of my issues with the team. Im glad for the cuts we made. Im not thrilled about Linehan, but he could prove me wrong. I like our signings, because at least the team is doing something. I feel the team is addressing the cap, so im happy with that.

Some of the players i am done with, I have discussed with some, everyone knwos where i am with Dunbar, he has to prove it to me. Im beinging to think Lee may not be worth it. Carter i was never impressed with , never. Terrance Williams as well. Witten shouldnt be starting, should be a situational guy to keep his legs and brain fresh.

I have never been impressed wiht Spencer, so i dont care if they trade him for a peanut butter sandwich or cut him.

I am hoping the Marinelli Kiffen switch works out better. I still liek Callahan on the line.

Point of note, we are not making the playoffs, lets find Romos replacement and get him experience.

Thats where i stand, want more, feel free to ask.

Jerry isn't the best but he's far from the worst to me. He's fielded good teams so it's not like he's clueless, he makes headscratching moves at times but what Gm doesn't?

Yea, pretty much.

One question:
Is the optimist not the realist?

Another:
Is it possible to be both an optimist and a realist?

I suppose it is possible to be both but I really did not want this to be a debate thread.:)
