Whaaaaaat? Romo had nothing to do with this loss or at least the last 3 losses. Romo played his butt off and made play after play under duress. If you can't see that, then you're legally blind. Whatever clueless! :rolleyes:

It's posts like this should be immediately banned. You're Cowboys' fandom card needs ripped up and burned! Once again you guys fail to see that it was yet another phase of the game that did us in, but let's blame Tony.

The results, and many excuses by you Romo apologists, speak for themselves. Romo piles up all the numbers during the season, but when it counts, when a game needs to be taken by the throat, he & whatever assortment of players around him have continually failed.
The only folks who would still argue that Romo is a better clutch QB than Eli are the apologists, who're now so used to coming up short, that anything but the truth will suffice.
And stop with the "if only he had a better defense", or, "if only (fill in the blank) had caught that ball", or, " Poor Tony deserves better"......blah blah blah. Face it- he's a good/very good QB at times...but NOT a winner when it counts. Period.
Its pathetic to see the denial around here- sheesh, he hasn't won squat & the window is closing. Next year you'll have the same excuses as you did this year, & the year before that.

I don't understand it. In one sentence you'll say "Romo and the players around him". Then next you'll go on to make player to player comparisons without factoring in their respective teams.

If you want to make the case that our team comes up small in big spots I don't think I'll disagree with you there. In fact, I'll also say that Romo isn't perfect. He has, by himself, lost us some games in his career.

But this nonsense about "when it counts" and trying to imply that he was the reason we lost last night is nonsense. This team has a habit of coming up short. Romo is a part of that team and Romo can not always win in spite of that team.

The same goes for the rest of our team, sometimes they'll play a solid game and Romo will wet the bed with boneheaded plays. Still, on the whole, we win and lose as a team. Sometimes specific parts are more culpable but in no way was Romo the reason last night. It also seems some posters are force fed their opinions from the media and just run with it.

Its not just THIS team, as in "this year's version of the Cowboys", it's EVERY year's version since Romo has been QB.
We've had changes in personnel, coaching, schemes, whatever...but the constants have been Romo & JJ....& we all know we can't fire JJ.
He's a good QB, who'll win a ton of games, but when he gets to the cusp of greatness, something, anything, ALWAYS seems to happen.
The winners, the great ones, don't have that happen as many times as it has with this QB. Its always something, always another "if only", or "what if".
When is that gonna be enough for you guys, anyway- and why do you wanna accept perenial mediocrity?
Gaudy records are not what this franchise is about, at least not in the past. Its always been, & still remains...CHAMPIONSHIPS!
Tony Romo, IMHO, is not the man who'll lead this franchise to another championship.

Not to mention the fact he moved the ball some 45 yards with less than 50 seconds on the clock and no timeouts to get us in field goal range.

This thread is absolutely shameful...especially coming from, what we can only assume to be, a Cowboys fan.

It's unbelievable. People expect Romo to make every single play and will this team to win in spite of how the rest of the team plays. He played damn near perfect.

Yeah and the problem with this ridiculous thread is that you can't bring this topic up after a game in which Romo was the best thing we had going for us.

Romo went out and put the Giants in a headlock by completing two 50+ yard passes and 2 TDs in a span of five minutes to give us a two touchdown lead.

Romo has better fourth quarter stats across the board than Eli for their careers. QB rating, TDs, INTs, sacks, fumbles, comeback drives...Romo has the advantage in every category.
