Competitive Greatness

Put Alex Smith on this team and we have maybe two wins, Romo is doing great this year.

Hey, I don't disagree with you. I'm on record saying that Romo is better than most QB's in the NFL.

Tebow has it. Staubauch had it. Aikman had it. I'm sorry to say guys, but Romo doesn't.

Micheal Irvin had it to, and he said he'd rather play with Tebow than Romo. Nuff said.

anyone with fractional football IQ has spotted this some time ago.

Romo went out and put the Giants in a headlock by completing two 50+ yard passes and 2 TDs in a span of five minutes to give us a two touchdown lead.

Romo has better fourth quarter stats across the board than Eli for their careers. QB rating, TDs, INTs, sacks, fumbles, comeback drives...Romo has the advantage in every category.

Romo isn't the problem around here.

You get it. I get it. Troy gets it. Michael gets it. ESPN commentators get it. But stepping into this forum is a Stepford wives kinda experience.

So, are the only players who have this "it" have Superbowl titles? Because that's the only thing I can agree with. Those are the only guys I can see you ever willing to take over Romo, even though Romo routinely puts up better numbers, this is a passing league now, so I'll give you that.

But Tebow? Really, Tebow?

A guy and his team wins a few games and suddenly he has "it" and could easily replace Romo?

Whatever. The first time he lost a few games here you'd say he doesn't have it any more. I guess he just lost "it" on his way over here to Dallas?

Also, the media, yes even those former players, routinely say dumb things.

When are you going to flee? Oh sorry, I mean fade.

If Tebow was on this team, we go 0-16.

I think we'd still have beaten the Rams and the Bills. Even Tebow couldn't screw up those blowouts.

Romo is no slob. He is a good quarterback. But, he's rotting away here. Some of it his own fault, some defense, so on so forth.

When did our fanbase become apologists for a proven mediocrity at QB?
Romo reminds me of this era's Danny White- a good, sometimes great QB who just...for whatever reasons, couldn't get over the hump.
Like White, Romo followed a legend. Like White, Romo has not won the BIG games.
If some of the apologists are fine with a playoff win once every blue moon, and epic blowouts & missed opportunities vs NFC rivals MOST of the time, then Romo is your guy.
All I know is another year is going by where they're likely gonna sit at home, and all thats left are the excuses....AGAIN!
We face the Iggles in a coupla weeks- how many of you are confident of a good showing in that game?
Personally, I can see odds of a win at about 50/50. But with this team/franchise/QB....I'm expecting another prime time blowout, of which we've seen many, & have become accustomed to in the Romo Era.
If that's fine with some of you....ask yourselves why. Sheesh.

I don't know. If we don't keep scoring, which we wouldn't have with Tebow, we let their offense back on the field many more times during that game.

If Tony Romo was 'the problem' last night - I wish the Cowboys would bring in a few MORE problems. Particularly on defense... at cornerback.

Romo started the first series a little overamped. After that - he was the rock on that team. The lone constant.

Was he perfect? No. But he was better than good. If you're just looking to scapegoat Romo - your definitely picked the wrong game to do it.

Now there's a beacon of truth for ya. I should listen to those intellectual giants more often!

If you are going to get your panties in a queen sized bunch at least decide if Romo is mediocraty?, good or great before you spin off on an estrogen filled rant.

Good comeback!
He's a good/sometimes great QB, whose MEANINGFUL GAME results have been mediocre. If that helps you feel better than so be it.
Attack me all you want, but I stand by my words- the guy IS NOT the 2nd coming, & only the Stepford Wives posters on this forum continue to defend him at all costs.
Its always someone else's fault- "If only Miles/T.O./Crayton had "run through" that play, they would've caught that ball"!
Well, how about "if only" Romo had thrown a better pass? How come Eli seems to perform better in those instances, but Romo doesn't?
Again, nitpick all you want, but the QB gets the glory AND the grief, thats just the way it is! Yet somehow, that standard doesn't seem to apply for the Romo apologists.

OMG.

Put Tebow on this team and put Romo with Denver....I think we know what would happen.

Competitive Greatness cannot be measured by stats. Danny White had better stats than Staubach. Staubach wasn't the fastest, couldn't throw it the farthest, but he had IT. Romo can put up great stats, and can do amazing things on the field, but the IT just isn't there. That's why we all get the knot in our stomach in the fourth quarter. The same knot is in his stomach.

So now you know how Romo feels? :lmao2:

You mean Roger playing with the Doomsday defense did not make a differance? how about WR making the acrobatic catch to help win the games? Yeah it was all the QB no one else played a role.
