Is it just me or is anyone else a little concerned at Romo's "surly" disposition?

Hey, I'd be pissed off as well had I gotten embarrased like that on national TV. But the Romo I am used to seeing is unflappable, smiling, confident, and ready to take on the world. This Romo today, according to reports, was "surly", defensive, kind of off balance.

Is it possible the pressure of playing week to week, the demands of BP, the media and all that hubbub are starting to take its toll?

It's part of the competiveness. I'd rather have him surly than the stupid little smirk he always has. Little too giddy for me.

Romo has the right to be surly and we will see how this pans out. I think the kid has the mental makeup to handle this which is why I think Parcells stayed with Romo this long.

Right.
So it's time to prove he is the QB of the future...or at least take another big step in the direction. I agree, I think he has it also.

I agree, the all smiles gollygee thing was refreshing at the time. At this time and place, I don't mind seeing a little fight in him with the media.

This is definitely the bloddy nose BP was referring to earlier this season.

I know he gets knocked a lot, but I have never been more impressed with Parcells. It's like all his football acumen has come together and he is calling a great season. Seems everything he is saying would happen, is happening. Kindof eery, in a way.

Personally I think he is a cancer. Two tickets out of town for TR & TO.

quote "kind of off balance"

Thats a bit of a stretch. Tony Romo showed what any other young competitive player would show - frustration. The important thing here is not what he says to the media but how he responds in the Atl. game. My only fear is that Parcells will go too far with "dummying down" the play book for Romo and limit his big game ability he has shown for past month.

Me too. It's obvious TO is having a negative impact on him. Stupid devil.

I'd be more concerned about the defense learning how to cover a back out of the back field or misdirection plays, and learning how to pressure the QB, but Romo's "surly" attitude is having a tremendous negative impact on the team I hear.

From the 50,000-watt tower of truth, justice and the American way (except FM where rudeness is a way of life.)

Surely, you don't mean surly!
Hey, if you were playing for peanuts, while the QB riding the bench is being paid 5 times what you are, would you not be surly after a game that the defense squandered?

If he gets surly, surely, BP will take care of it.
Right now I want him to get angry and start yelling at WRs (ala Aikman who yelled at others but was quiet when he screwed up things during his last years) and telling off the O linemen when they screw up.

Oh, well. You say surly, I say agitated.

But seriously... I am not worried about Romo yet... concerned yes... but not worried.... he just gives the impression that he will bounce back....

nope... i *really* like it.

i think with the loss and less margin of error, he's fed up with the smiling and brett farve imitations and jessica simpsons stuff and wants 100% to win these last 3 games.

sorta like tuna at a friday press conference... urgent football stuff to attend to..

i more wonder why some people have nothing better to do in their own lives than to study every fart a celebrety makes as if it's their defining moment of failure or success.

you have your moods, i'm sure. allow others the same w/o it being the end of the world. would you want a forum digging up your arse every time you had a bad day saying your career was now over cause of 1 bad outing?

no.

so leave it alone.

Nope, I love his attitude, the team had a bad game, the team not Romo the team. The Oline needs to step it up down the stretch or its going to be a long offseason.

ROMO better be a little testy.....I sure am after that performance

the problem is *some* posters want those in the public eye to never have the same emotional gambit to have to put up with we all do. any sign of being human is a party foul and cause for major concern. now if THEY went out and cussed out the neighbors because their dog took a mr hanky on their porch, it's ok and hey, was having a bad day anyway.

nothing i hate more than those who want leeway but never allow it to others.

Romo's attitude is fine.

He lost this week, and was probably not satisfied with his own performance either.
