Concerned - If Bill leaves, will Romo survive

I think its a serious concern... Romo is wild by nature... Bill seems to be losing some of that Mentor-Apprentice hold that he has on him.... Romo takes too many chances and it loose with the ball... Bill has always talked about "impulse" plays and how he hates them and the ratio will usually be against your team, not in favor....

So....

If Bill leaves... will it get worse?
If Bill stays.... can he right that ship?(hopefully he right it for THIS postseason)

i think he'll be fine.

i also think bill is relying too much on Romo late in the season... hurting him in that regard.

I worry more about Jerry trading him away. After they beat the Cardinals, Luksa did a column about this subject were Jerry said he would be open to the right trade and a bunch of draft picks. I hope Jerry is not considering this anymore.

I think Romo will be fine with a disiplinarian coach.

The reason why I bring this up is because... Holmgren lost Favre little by little.... then they went to 2nd SB and he lost him a little more.... Favre's career went downhill after Mike left...

This could happen with Romo

Our problems are not with Romo or even TO...The defense is consistently bad and offense is inconsistent with a below average offensive line. The Tuna may be a good motivator and judge of talent, but he is not a good X's and O's coach.

They would just need to bring in a good QB coach. Romo has the tools and, from what I've read, is quite coachable.

You never know Romo might do better without Bill.

I have considered that too... but... Romo is a wild-one... I wonder who would be good for him... which HC would he benefit from?

Ya know what's starting to bother me about Romo? I love his instincts, movement, and guile. What bothers me is his arm; he is struggling with the middle 15-25 yd stuff. In college you can throw over the deep(ish) middle and be a wee bit late and usually get away with it. Here you cannot, DB's recover too quickly. He seems to be trying to adjust to that by putting a little more zip on the ball, however his accuracy seems to be suffering in the short term. This will bear watching.

And yes, I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night

Sean Payton.
Romo will be in New Orleans, with the Saints.

there is a good chance that if Parcells leaves, Romo goes back to back up.

Probably part of the reason Parcells will be fired.

He's got plenty of arm strength, and decent accuracy - at least IMO - on all the throws.

What concerns me is his inexplicable tendency to sail the ball 5 feet over a receiver. He hasn't paid for it much yet, but that's begging the safeties to just sit there and bide their time, waiting for you to do it. He does it several times in nearly every game.

If we were going to turn our team over to a QB without any experience, they should have kept Henson.

He may not have looked good in practice, but he obviously had a ton more talent than Romo. We might ahve a QB of the future while loosing the playoff game instead of the moxie that will keep us in mediocraty.

Yea, still bitter about Henson being gone.

This sounds like pure wishful thinking. How much did you think this through?

Who would they target to start, then? Bledsoe? Baker? A draft pick? Some FA to be named later? Without the best OL in the NFL, Bledsoe appears firmly on the path of "get hit, stay rattled". That route puts us back to the beginning of this season. Perhaps somehow the same scenario doesn't play out, but without the OL, how? I don't for a minute think the OL is improved substantially based on the protection and rushing performances we've seen lately. Strength of schedule probably goes up based on the record as well.

With Baker or a draft pick, you've got a complete unknown. Without knowing the FA and how feasible it is, basically the same. And what FA QB in his right mind would want to come here after this season's antics if you throw in benching the QB instrumental in getting the team to the playoffs?

As Tyson would say: ludicrous.

Benching Bledsoe pretty much sealed Parcells fate.....I think that Bledsoe could be the starter again in 2007 with a new coaching staff that recognizes Romo's shortcomings and lack of arm strengh.
