they need to get their evaluation of the pass rushers right,we cant afford to miss in this draft and they better take two just to be on the safe side.

They might double dip in that category but quite honestly I'm not sure they should. We have SOME talent on the DL and we have Tapper in the wings that may turn out to be a stud. The Cowboys know more about the injured players than we do.

Since the 2009 draft disaster few teams have done as well as the Cowboys in the 1st round (Dez Bryant, Tyron Smith, Mo Claiborne, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, Byron Jones, Zeke Elliott).

Plus, the Cowboys are now a draft-and-develop team that resists overpaying for other teams' free agent table scraps.

There's still work to do, but this front office is on the right track, in my opinion.

All good picks except the MO disaster

We are a backup QB away from having one of the best records in the league for the regular season the last 3 years.

Unfortunately January always follows.

I am more then satisfied with the coaching staff. The Marinelli complaints confound me.
My response to the Linhand complaint is what do fans know about the late passing game.
Such as whose gassed, hurt ect. in the forth quarter.Maybe I'm viewing it wrong in my homer glasses.
I'm not privy to the inside info.

Management has made leaps and bounds the five or so years.
Is it taking too long? Yes I think so

That is the way I look at it as well. Yes, the coaching staff and front office have done a very good job the last couple of years of putting the team in a position to compete in the playoffs.

The problem is that the team and coaching staff is not good enough to win in the playoffs and that is ultimately how they should be judged. Start making the playoffs on a regular basis, have some success in the playoffs, and then we can start talking about how good they are, both the team and the coaching staff.

For example, last time we made the playoffs in back to back seasons.................2006 (Romo took over mid season) and 2007 (Romo's first season as the starter and the infamous trip to Cabo)

I'm cautiously optimistic. Overall it has been improving. We hit on some, got lucky on some, and totally messed up on some picks- but that's on par with every organization.

The defensive line picks and acquisitions could use some improvement. Extending T Crawford and giving him the same contract as "snacks" was a mistake in my opinion. The draft picks of Russell, Gregory, and tank aren't inspiring. The jury is still out on tapper but I'm not counting on much.

Overall, I'll give the FO an arrow trending up. Not every pick is going to be a winner, but as a fan I want them to be.

Mixed bag. Definitely improved from say 5 years ago but you can't ignore that they have refused to address the biggest weakness on the team. Pass rush. 2 years ago we lost to GB in the playoffs cause we couldn't get to Rodgers. This year we lost to GB cause we couldn't get to Rodgers. Until they fix this the FO can't be considered a success

Byron jones is the second worst pass defender in the league.

Mo Claiborne is a never healthy cornerback

All the other pics you mentioned are pretty darn good! Go Cowboys.

I feel like I have a good handle on what the front office has done both good and bad in recent years, but I haven't followed any other team closely enough to gain a sense of what percentage of hits would qualify as good. Obviously some draft picks, and some free agents pickups, have worked out brilliantly, and others have fizzled, but it it stands to reason that that's the case for every team. The Cowboys front office should earn kudos to the extent that their hit:miss ratio is superior to other teams, but I don't know if that's the case.

Unfortunately Romo is only worth what the market determines he is worth. Now you, me and the Cowboys have a higher opinion of him, unfortunately we need the Texans, the Broncos and whoever else to feel the same.

But keep in mind, if you were a gm for one of those teams how much would you be willing to go in on a 37 year old quarterback with an injury history? I personally think we can get a 2 or 3 for him but that certainly doesnt make it fact.

As far as my faith in the front office I feel pretty good. I think theyve earned it to an extent.

The front office produced a 13-3 season, #1 seed and Dak/Zeke.

Heck yeah I have confidence.

Go Cowboys! :flagwave:

Did you really just put Mo Claiborne on that list?
