11-time Cowboys Pro Bowl TE Jason Witten coaches high school team to state title

Published: Dec 02, 2023

Having moved on from autumn Sundays, Jason Witten has found more gridiron glory under Texas' Friday night lights.
Witten, an all-time Dallas Cowboys great, coached the Liberty Christian (Argyle, Texas) Warriors to a TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) Division II state championship win over the Regents Knights (Austin), 52-10, on Friday night in Waco.
Witten's Warriors culminated a 14-0 season in which they outscored their opposition, 716-96, with their closest victory coming by 28 points.

And the next HC of the Dallas Cowboys is….
Jason could be the 1st HS coach to go right to the NFL as a HC.

He has two kids on the team. He can follow the Coach Prime path and go with them to college.

Been a while since I've watched a high school team. When they showed the clip of Witten's team during the Seattle game, was struck with how tiny those players looked.

Guess I've been so zoned in on Pro and Big College Programs that I've lost touch with it.

Just a shame that they couldn't have won it before they made Deion "sportsman of the year".....
No comparison to what Deion has done in college football at JSU and CU. Its cute what Witten has done but not great. Sanders has changed the college game to the future and it is prime time.

I guess he didn't go to Cabo right before his big game. Maybe he learned his lesson?

If it's too late to attend a game in your locale, attend a couple next season - an enjoyable evening-night out (and it brings back memories).

Chuck Norris was their advisory committee.
Not for nothing but was watching bruce Lee's "game of death" and couldn't help but notice that Norris has just slightly less back hair than a Silver back gorilla......way too much hair in the 70's. Especially in porn. It was like everybody was growing a Chia pet out they backsides.

just an observation

More than “cute” for JW but agreed that Deion has made the far more substantial impact. Very cool to see both of them finding success as coaches
