I rewatched the game and thought Carpenter play acceptionally well. Nothing great be he made some good plays in coverage and against the run. It was promising.

"Exceptional" and "great" are basically synonomous. So which is it, he played "exceptionally well" or he "did nothing great"?

P.S. Carp SUCKED against the run. With a hose.

he hesitates too much. in coverage he looks fine but when it's a run he hesitates.

He's going to play alot of coverage as the nickel backer. So that's perfect.

Even nickel LBers need to tackle. That is less than perfect.

I found this quote and I think I am going to put it in my sig.

Exceptional and greater are not remotely synonymous. Exceptionally small does not equate to greater. You would never say great small. That is nonsense.

As for your take on Carp can you name any particular plays that demonstrate your opinion or are you just settling with 'he sucks through a hose."?

This I definitely agree with. It allows the guard/FB to get a bead on him and he puts himself at a disadvantage. I saw tow plays though where he would read run step up and he was able to shed a block and make a tackle.

I didn't see it as an issue of actual physicality. Hes not dodging contact. Hes just being hesitant or timid if you insist on using derogatory remarks about our players.

His tackling his fine. It's just his shed blocking is a little weak. Most nickel packages are going to be pass situations anyways.

blah blah blah. Carp fought through guards and made tackles on two running plays. This was despite Phillips and Butler constantly running up the field and out of position and the DL not forcing a single double team and guards getting free shots at the second level.

QB waterboy, one day you will realize that speaking loud does not make your argument any better.

Hell, do you even make a post if its not in a thread you started?

Going to throw this out to you...since obviously you don't like me or my posts, try this plan of attack: don't read what I write...

May work out for you.

Didn't you know he's the best Cowboy fan ever because he yelled at a couple of coaches and a reporter?

This fact also clearly makes him the smartest man alive, therefore, every post and comment he makes should be seen as gold.

I never bowed down to this guy like most of the people on this forum.

Funny. You know so much about me and my motives...I post what I feel. If you don't like it, you certainly are entitled to that opinion.

Sadly I don't resort to personal attacks on postings unless in jest. You have a different tactic apparently.

Thanks for not bowing down I believe was the quote...I do not want anyone to do such an idiotic thing (even in hyperbole)...I post and you agree or not. You post and I agree or not. I think that's why they call it a discussion board.

Sadly I guess I am open to your differing opinions, but you are not open to mine. I can live with that though.

Hey man that is fair. Its not a function of me liking you or not. I don't know you. You're def a Cowboys fan. I am however going to read what you write because if nothing else it is passionate about that. I will just try and behave myself.

I enjoy reading your posts, but your attack on him was irrelevant and petty. If you disagree with his opinion so be it, but don't distract people from your great posts with unecessary personal attacks.

Do a search for AdamJT's posts on tackle stats. They are completely arbitrary. On one he was solo on the other he and Rogers got there and is should have been at least an assist. There were several plays where he ate a guard and couldn't get off fo him so its not like its all sunshine and roses but I by no means don't think he can't do it.

I need to rewatch the game. Saw a few posts about how good Barbie and Procter did. Funny how the second team D was getting run on at will and none of it is Barbies fault. He is above any blame. The second team offense was crap...and none of it was Proctors fault. QB/Center fumble = not Proctors fault...amazing.

dude if you feel that this board generally feels Carpenter is beyond any blame (even for just this one game) you are blacking out when you read half the posts.

You know what your right, I was in a bad mood for numerous reasons and I lashed out. I guess I felt doing it through a computer made it less wrong, but it didn't.

I don't really like the way he does things but the way he follows the Cowboys doesn't make him less of a person. It was out of character for me to say stuff like that anyway. Thanks for the reality check.

Sorry about the way I jumped on you, QB Coach.

Not a problem...no harm done...

Spent 5 years teaching high school, 4 years playing a D1 sport, 5 years coaching D1 baseball...that gives me 14 years around the meanest s.o.b.'s on the planet.

Not worried about what gets written about me on the board. I'm a big boy and will be okay. I do appreciate the apology, but I take no offense and please, please do not think you ever need to apologise for your opinion.

I never take anything persoanl here and have fun "argueing" back and forth...I think we all do so everyone should take this site for what it is...fun.

Come to Tampa for the opener and we can all have a beer. It's only a 45 minute ride from Orlando and we will be in the north end zone...by that damn pirate ship...ugh...

I'll be in Tampa for the opener. I'll be listening for the guy yelling the loudest directly at the Cowboys players and coaches, cursing their very existence.... I'm betting it's going to be you. ;)
