Stuff like that just reminds me why I hate the media in general. There are good guys in the business, but lots of prostitute types who will do anything to get on TV or help ratings.

They are truly the "drive-by media" as Rush Limbaugh says. Whether you love or hate him, Rush has a point here.

This will make TO a sympathetic figure for certain. He will look like the victim of a ruthless media and actually be viewed as the better person for it.

I've always believed TO has some buried emotional issues. Maybe I'm naiive, but I just find it hard to imagine how anyone who grew up with his upbringing couldn't carry a little emotional baggage.

I don't know if emotional baggage equates to "mentally disturbed" or not.

But the outcome of today's events does nothing to prove that he is bothered in any way, even if some will continue to suggest it does (IMO).

I find it hard to believe that most people within their regular lives don't carry some sort of emotional baggage, let alone someone in Terrell's situation.

He's one big issue that quite frankly I wish we didn't have to deal with on a weekly bases.

All your whining won't make TO a victim, so drop it.

The only 'deeply disturbed' people today were in the media. Total disregard to any sort of decency, absolutely no regard for social responsibility! Its a person, not a headline.

The ticket are now trying to spin it Jerry against Bill. They are saying that Bill didn't want TO and possibly Jerry didn't tell Bill about him being in the hospital because Bill would say I told you so. Hence from Bills press conference saying he didn't know anything.

The difference is TO's problems are magnified by the media.

As being one who both works in the media, has been on television (on news discussion shows), has messed up on television and one who is of stable mind (at least I think), ;) I can see how people can cave under the pressure of constant media attention.

When I used to mess up on camera, I would get this queasy feeling, almost feeling ashamed and thinking I'm stupid. I never gave into it, but I did feel bad right after I came off the set.

And my situation isn't 1/100th of what TO has to go through.

It's a pressure most can't even imagine. So I kind of feel for him, even if he did bring a lot of this attention on himself.

Personally, I'll take the "Parcells doesn't care about his players angle" for $300, Alex.

I am beggining to think that putting a bounty on reporters is just as valid as putting one on lawyers.

I have always thought this as well. As someone mentioned, ESPN Sportscentury aired his Profile two nights ago and it just gave you an interesting peek into where the man came from and the people that raised him.

I think some things mentioned about some of the things he went through as a child still haunts him. Alot of people in this world have bad things happen to them, it is just some people are able to handle it better.

I personally think T.O. is still bothered by some of it.

Bob Costas says in this blog that he doesn't presume to be close enough to said situation to make a diagnosis but then continues on to say that Owens is a "deeply, deeply disturbed man".

Herein lies the problem with most filibustering, melodramatic windbags that get a woody off the sound of their own voice in the media: They talk so much ***** that after awhile they start to contradict themselves. Put me at the top of the "I hate Bob Costas" list.

Totally irresponsible- but then what do you expect from the media?
Rush was exactly right in calling them DRIVE-BY.

For the record:

1. I am a huge Cowboy fan and didn't want to sign TO
2. I don't particularily like Bob Costas
3. I doubt TO tried to commit suicide

But......what did Costas say that is so horrible. You can draw only one conclusion from watching TO's behavior over the past years. He has many demons. His behavior has been way beyond just eccentric. I've often thought all his bravado was about covering up for his own insecurities. This is not a far fetched opinion. I just hope for TO's sake it was just a reaction to pain pills, nobody wants to see a person in that much mental pain.
