The Philadelphia Eagles have requested permission to interview former New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin for their head coaching vacancy, sources have confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

I think he can create a solid plan, which is what that organization needs desperately.

I believe he is a better fit for a team that is closer than Philly. I look at Philly and I see a rebuild, not a coach to push them over the top.

Plus, Coughlin hasn't really done anything worth while since his last super bowl. Giants haven't drafted that great and the team overall is pretty average, that is why the Giants wanted to move on.
