Yeah that is alway suspicious, I thought he was a decent source and has been in the past.
Bro, Eli is not making it into the HOF. I don't know where in the world you are getting that idea from.
Two superbowl rings, two SB MVP awards. That normally is a "carte blanche" for entrance into Canton. Superbowls matter to the Hall of Fame it keeps most deserving player out.
Two Superbowl rings do not typically accompany a sub 80 qbr and multiple seasons leading the league in interceptions/ throwing more interceptions than touchdowns. If Eli does eventually make the HOF it will probably be 15 years after his initial eligibility. Letting him in off pity at that point.
If winning is the main criteria for being honored in a "Hall" that signifies which players most "famously" represented pro football, then Manning should definitely be considered for the two seasons in which he helped New York to championships. He had a passer rating of 95.7 in the 2007 playoffs and 103.3 in the 2011 playoffs.
If they focus on those playoff runs, then Manning is an easy "yes" vote. If it weren't for the two Super Bowls and MVPs, this wouldn't be a discussion. If he had won just one Super Bowl, this wouldn't be a discussion. But he has, and he was unquestionably superb in those two playoff runs. He was, following Super Bowl XLVI, the fifth man in history to be named Super Bowl Most Valuable Player on multiple occasions. The other individuals to hold that honor include Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Bart Starr and Terry Bradshaw. All but Brady, who will have his own wing in Canton soon after Gisele calls time on his playing days, were unquestionable Hall of Fame candidates.
You will see the media and voters will gloss over those troubled seasons of more picks than TD's.
Dude Eli gets too much bad press even the media is seeing that he is bad too much and his team missed the playoffs too often, he is not gonna get a HOF pass because of those two years. They are outliers and he will get in around the 15 year mark
Hopefully we both live long enough to see the conclusion of this debate.
So you dont think the Pats were lucky with that Russell Wilson gift INT?
You dont think the Giants were lucky with the Tyree helmet catch?
All of these teams making moves to better themselves is just a small stab with a rusty knife everytime to know that were stuck with the clapper
Especially knowing that the clapper is the most deserving of getting canned
I think Tyree made a play and so did Malcolm Butler on the interception to save the TD.
Make plays and capitalize on the opportunities dealt to you.
Win the game.
You still want to discuss that the team that makes the plays in the key moments of a game is typically the team that wins?
But was there luck involved?
Or will you continue to avoid that?
LMAO!
Luck in which regard?
That Coughlin was lucky to win both SB's because the WR (Tyree) made a catch that he competed to make?
Coughlin did his job and coached those players to keep their head in the game and advised his offensive staff, as head coaches do in certain situations in games, to call the type of play they did.
It's not like he flipped a coin or pressed a button and hoped for an outcome. They practiced and executed a designed play that was called during that game.
This isn't the lottery or casino and Tom Coughlin coached 2 SB winning teams because he did his job as a HC.
Ok, Coughlin made his own luck. He coached up Eli on how to stumble around, tripping over his own feet and throwing up a ball for grabs and then he most certainly coached up Tyree on how to make helmet catches.
Got it!
