Could Jourdan Lewis be the steal of the draft?

"This kid was a monster in college. It was a rare sight to see someone complete a pass against him when he was in coverage. He’s also a beast coming off the edge and going after the quarterback."

I personally think this kid is going to wow us when the pads come on. Cant wait to see him and Dez go at it.

Pretty amateurish piece. I guess the use of "monster" and "beast" gave it away.

The 2017 draft class has 3 or 4 players who could earn that label.

Still, it's a lttle early to be talking about stuff like that.

Seeing as how Jourdan Lewis was popularly considered as the "best cover corner" in the 2017 draft, there's no reason why he shouldn't also be thought of as "the steal" of that draft as well. I believe he was taken in the 3rd round, if I'm not mistaken. Not a bad deal, huh?

To be totally candid, though, I'll be 100% satisfied whether he gets that acclaim or not. As always, much depends upon who is handing out that honor, as much as anything else.

We hear every year that Dallas got 2 or 3 steals of the draft. Then we hear every year about 5 or 6 guys ready to breakout yet they never do when the real games start. All of this talk is just noise. Nobody is anything until they prove it during the season. I'm done getting excited about anything said about anyone during the offseason.

my fav Cowboy drafted this year was Awuzie, but I am very intrigued by this guy...if Dallas hits on both of these guys, this could be a very interesting, dare I say "super"
season for Dallas

Ive only been writing for awhile. So I appreciate the critique. Ill make sure to keep those words out of my next piece. Thank you
You mention his good hands. He played wide receiver in high school (my alma mater, Yay!) and yes he was a really good receiver with good hands and speed. He excelled at track and played basketball as well so he's an all around athlete. I remember him snatching the ball out of the air as a receiver and at cornerback. His size is the only thing that could hold him back, but against the smaller slot receivers, he might fit in just perfect.

I thought Awuzie was small, but he's a lot bigger than I thought. I'm impressed by his football knowledge as well. Saw him on some NFL Network show breaking down film. Real impressive. Could be a coach or analyst someday.

Kid has skills now we have to see if those skills translates to the NFL.

I had heard that Noah Brown was the steal of the draft, so now I'm officially confused.

If Lewis can adapt to the nfl rules quickly, i think he can be Dallas' version of Janoris Jenkins. The kid is physical and plays the ball. Tackles like a big CB too. If not for the GF issue this kid was a 1st round pick.

I note that Al Michaels, who hasn't done badly for himself and is hardly an amateur, uses "monster" quite frequently. I wouldn't take the criticism too much to heart.

Lewis turns and looks for the ball and can snatch it with one hand. Dallas hasn't had a CB that turns or can catch with 2 hands in forever.
