We just disagree. Reggie Bush gets 4 mill a year as a part time RB and I don't know how you could look at a back like Murray with a straight face and make that low of an offer. We clearly disagree.

To be fair, when Detroit signed Bush, it was not with the intent for him to be a "Part Time" RB. They signed him to be a feature back and in 2013, he pretty much was with 1006 Yards rushing (4.5 YPC) and 506 yards receiving (9.4 YPC). Last year, he was injured so production was poor.

I don't see why when Bush was never a full time back to begin with, not even at USC

On one hand it does not matter then it does matter? I think once Dallas restructure the contract of Romo, Tyron Smith and either have Carr take a pay cut or release him Dallas will have the space to get both Dez and Murray signed along with mid level FA

I don't understand what you are saying here.

Yes, restructure those contracts but the money will still be there. It only hurts our future cap. I don't want that. We just disagree.

I don't understand a lot of what Detroit does but the part that I do understand is that Detroit actually only signed Bush for 5 Million Guaranteed.

yes we do disagree, I think Murray along with Dez are 2 important parts of this team they account for 70% of the offense and would do what I can to retain these players. I could understand the blow back if I was saying that Murray should be getting the 8, 9 or 14 mill that some are getting however the 6 I think is very doable and fair market value.

I would not pay him 6 but that's fine. We agree to disagree.

He was the leading rusher because he carried the ball 100 times more than the next guy. It wasn't because he was the most efficient in terms of yards per carry.

And Murray beat him by a long shot. What's your point?

Look at the Ravens. Out of the blue came Justin Forsett. Lead the league in Big Plays per Attempt. Also lead the league in Yards per Attempt. He played on a contract this year worth $730,000.00. He's a FA agent this year as well.

yes and will not play at that price next year and Murray base was lower than that of Forsett

Because Reggie Bush is wildly overpayed.

Demarco Murray is not transcendent. He's one of many good backs in the league. And there's a crop of very talented rookies on the way, and I trust Will McClay to find the next Murray for 1/20th the price.

Murray has been pretty consistent with 5 yards a carry in his career to act as if he is some no body give me a break.

And it will be interesting to see what Forsett does play for. I'm guessing he's not going to get that 6 mil per year either. Maybe more around the 3-4 mil per range.

Plus Forsett is already 30. No way he gets paid like Murray. Especially considering their production, NFL leading rusher vs. 5th leading rusher. And the 2nd leading rusher was no where close to Murray. The Murray ignorance is crazy.

There are only 8 backs in the NFL that are making more then 6 Million a season.

AD - One of the most productive backs in the history of the league. Signed in 2011

Shady - Could be on his way out in Philly. Signed in 2012

Charles - We have already discussed his contract, basically a 2 year deal. Signed in 2014

Foster - Foster has been productive, outside of 2013. Deal has two years left, signed in 2012

BeastMode - Could part ways with Seattle this upcoming season. Signed in 2012

Forte - Has been a really productive player for a long time. Signed in 2012

DeAngelo Williams - This is a 3 year deal, Carolina can cut him next year or renegotiate. Signed in 2013

Of these deals, 5 were done in 2012. Not surprising, since the players contract was renegotiated in 2011 and part of that renegotiation was that teams had to spend a certain percentage of revenue on players salaries. Since then, only two contracts of 6 Million or more have been done with RBs and both are short term. Charles (2 year deal) and Williams (3 year deal). If you want to sign Murray to a shorter term, bigger dollar contract, that's OK but will he do that? I don't know. If so, I might be in favor of this but not anything for more then three years and if you do that, then you have to understand that it will impact how much cap we have to work with for Dez, other players who we need to resign and any future FAs.

How many of the 5 on your list have rushed for 1800 yards or more? Only Peterson.

And all those guys have multiple pro bowls and been considered the best or one of the bests at their position. Yet all are older, missed more games and have decidely more wear and tear on their bodies. Other than maybe Peterson, NONE of these guys have Murray's upside. His arrow is pointing up and most importantly, he is the perfect fit on this offense. On and off the field.

As pointed out he is 30 that plays a part in it. Again I don't think 6 mill a year is over board by any means and keeps Murray right at the top 10 not even the top 5 RB. No one is saying he should be getting the contracts that were well above the 6 mill mark on the other hand treating a player as if he was some role player when he has contributed as much as Murray did in my view is wrong because frankly guys at 4 mill are not having to carry the load and their avg is suppose to be higher with fewer carries, it is damn hard to maintain a high avg per run when you are carrying the load.
