Could someone from Texas please exlpain to me "WHY"

Randy Galloway is so damn negative. I live in Maryland but read most of the TX. papers to follow the Boyz and everything I read from him is just flatout terrible. He constantly doggs BP and Jerry in his articles. It seems like he goes out of his way to dogg them. What is his beef with them and the Boyz. Here in MD. sports radio WTEM always has Galloway on before the Boyz-Foreskin games just cause they know Galloway is gonna rip the Boyz a new one. I can't stand the dude and have even emailed him telling him so. Whats the deal with this cat? Can somebody please explain?

I think what had happened, was his girlfreind had left him for Parcells, and said that BP was better than him, so he just hold this personal vendiction against us.

I don't completely see your point about Galloway being negative. I listen to his radio show almost everyday for 5 years now. His motto is Trust in Big Bill Except for Quarterbacks. He really has endorsed BP in most everything done. He does think Jerry drove them into the ground and cost the Boys 1-3 more Super Bowls aka break up of Jimmy, draft, etc. which is true.

If you think he is negative about the Cowboys then you haven't read or heard nothing yet. Try reading his or hearing his views on the Texas Rangers and the "empty golf shirt" feud with Hart, the GM.

I guess he's a bitter person. I have been reading his articles since he was at the DMN and they have been informative. I still listen to him on GAC radio and he's a realist, but true sometimes it seems like he bashes the Cowboys.

Can you explain to me why Victor Hugo spent an entire chapter describing the architecture of Notre Dame cathedral?

Can you explain to me why Herman Melville wrote an entire chapter about the boiling of blubber?

Can you explain to me why Ernest Hemingway could write so vibrantly about life and take his own?


Writers do what they feel is going to get them noticed or what they feel is important. Their tone is just a small piece of how you identify with them. Some writers (especially journalists) look for an angle to guarantee readers. Like moths to a flame people read his stuff because it creates emotions. I wouldn't give you 2 cents for a writer who can't stir up some kind of emotion.

He's done it this way for so long it is his niche.

That's the best way I can explain it.

Randy Galloway is the "Devils Advocate" here in DFW. He loves to keep the pot stirred. Don't take him too seriously......he's one of the biggest homers around these parts. You just wouldn't know it from reading his articles and listening to his radio shows.

What's funny is he isn't nearly so rough on the Cowboys as he is on some other local sports figures.

I don't listen to him that much and I haven't really read him since he left the DMN, but the potbanging he so adamantly adheres to is exactly why he is worth every penny to the Star Tele and 103.3 FM.

For the most part Cowboys fans are pretty spoiled with winning and can tolerate the not so positive writers..... atleast until the team proves they don't deserve it.

Galloway is a very good sports columnist. You don't get people coming back to read your column or listen to your show if all you do is, boy this team is great theres no problem at all here in this city.

Randy Galloway just plain sucks to me. Every now and then he has his moments, but on the whole a very annoying guy even before he got on the radio.

He even called the Herschel Walker Trade "All Smoke and No Fire.". He also seems to be incredibly in love with Jack Delhomme.

His last article he wrote for the Star Tele was typical of his style, which is more a rant instead of structured and sound reporting medium. His very personal and constant drug attacks on Quincy Carter probably wears on alot of people as well.

But hey, it's either him or suffering through the Hardline's pranks and non-football segments.

If I had my way, the sports airwaves would be nothing but Norm Hitzges and Chuck Cooperstein and a sprinkle of the Hardline for the Two-Minute Drill and their very informative Baseball talk (which I know very little about) and maybe just maybe Dan Patrick.

Galloways good I suppose, but he is negitive. calling the boys the 'Cows'. I dont care much for him, but his sidekick on espn radio, Brian Estridge, I like him. I hate the ticket so I have little choice. Gotta listen to him on the way home, Hes better then Jim Rome.
