Could the Dallas Cowboys chase another restricted free agent this offseason?
http://thelandryhat.com/2017/03/02/dallas-cowboys-chase-restricted-free-agent/

After finding success through the restricted free agent market last year, could Dallas dive in again and chase yet another under the radar player to fill a need on their roster? If they do, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen could make sense as a possible target.
With both Terrance Williams and Brice Butler scheduled to hit free agency next week, the Cowboys could be in serious need of a number two wide receiver to pair alongside All-Pro Dez Bryant.

After recording a total of 20 receptions and a score in his first two seasons with the Vikings, the undrafted free agent wide receiver out of Minnesota State-Mankato had a breakout year in 2016. Thielen posted 69 receptions for nearly 1,000 yards and five touchdowns for a Vikings’ team that had Sam Bradford under center for 15 games...

Thielen is a different kind of restricted free agent. Oakland didn't match the Mayowa offer because it was easy to consider that too rich for a part-time player with not a lot of sacks under his belt.

Thielen is a proven starting receiver, so there's no way we're going to be able to just pilfer him from the Vikings.

Was he given an Original Round Tender or a 2nd Round Tender?

This must be from a writer with no real ideas and a deadline to get something new on the website.

Didn't read the story or understand it, huh?

Naw, the author made good sense as to the why's of a consideration...but carry on.

Can't see the Vikings letting him go and have 37m in cap space next year.

I googled it but came up short on what tender the Viks have/will use on him.

Almost would rather see us go after Hanson, JuJu or other WRs in the 2nd or 3rd*.

Of course they could rise/fall now that the combine is underway.

Not sure it really matters because they'll have the opportunity to match any offer. Can't see the Vikings letting a !,000-yard receiver go without someone vastly overpaying.

I wouldn't give a 2nd for Theilan and pay him.......I would make an offer if it original round tender

Think a more realistic signing would be Patterson from the Vikings, if the price is right.

Instant upgrade over Lucky and our WR liked him too coming out the draft, right?

Definitely matters, if he was given a 2nd round tender we have to give up the pick to sign him if they don't match our offer sheet, which is a little hefty for him in my opinion. If you're simply saying that it doesn't matter because they'll likely match any offer, please disregard response.

I understand that, but what I'm saying is that it's very unlikely that the Vikings wouldn't match a reasonable offer.

The tender doesn't matter if the price isn't right. Mayowa was fairly low cost because he hadn't proven anything. Wresting Thielen from the Vikings is going to take a pretty decent offer.
