... due to the players getting Christmas morning off?
I just thought of this, hear me out. My cousin was watching the game with me and after the FIRST Philly drive, looks over at me and says this "ain't gonna be pretty". Couple this with Newman reportedly saying (to Anthony Henry) something to the effect of how he could tell in warm ups it was going to be a long afternoon.
I wonder, do you think the fact the players got to spend Christmas morning with their families had anything to do with the lack of focus the team showed on the field? If I think about it from a player viewpoint, there I am at home, opening gifts, kissing the wife and kids, and then having to leave for the game. Instead of being at the hotel with all the players, completely focused on the task at hand, like a normal game with a lot at stake.
Maybe it's a stretch, and I'd certainly expect more from million dollar "professionals", but it seems like maybe that kindness from BP may have backfired on the field.
Thoughts?
