Could the Lions teach Stephen how to slice pie?

LOL!!!

This can't be.

@OmerV said you can't pay a QB, WR and edge rusher all at the same time!
:lmao2:
If they wanted to, they could. They choose not to. They choose to construct contracts in a way that makes it look prohibitive to sign others.
Exactly. Their cap excuses are just that in order to do what the ownership really wants to do. Just so happens the top priority for Jerry/Stephen is and has always been, after they realized they couldn't build a winner like Jimmy did, is for the team valuation to stay on the rise. They've succeeded in the objective they set out to achieve. Everything else are just costs to play the game and acceptable deductions.

The greatest lie the Jones’ boys have told. They have convinced tons of people that the cowboys can’t afford to sign some of their key players and/or sign free agents.

It’s total nonsense. But they have so many fans afraid of “cap hell” that they have fans willing to move on from their best players to try and avoid it.
Actually a genius way to change the discussion from winning on the field to focusing on finances where fans believe the team couldn't survive with so many players getting paid. And even in that vein, Jerry/Stephen are guilty of delaying what they knew was coming in the first place and planning ahead to have a better product on the field.

As fans, we should be enjoying and focused on the game being played on the field vs the financial business aspects especially when they are used as excuses when the fan gains nothing from that side of the business anyways (outside of those who enjoy the true genius in manipulating the cap and seeing the rewards from it). At this point, fans are investing in a product (includes money, but time as well) that won't ever produce what they have paid to hope for. Kinda crazy if you think about it.

I hope the local media brings this up when the Joneses have their talk shows. Can’t wait to hear their excuses. The reason why we didn’t win a Super Bowl during the Parsons era is because the Joneses where cheap.

Aidan Hutchinson: 4-years, $180M
Jared Goff: 4-years, $212M
Amon-Ra St. Brown: 4-years, $120.01M
Penei Sewell: 4-years, $112M
Jameson Williams: 3-years, $80M
Kerby Joseph: 4-years, $85M
Alim McNeill: 4-years, $97M
Taylor Decker: 3-years, $60M

It’s never been about the “pie”. Dallas could go sign whoever they want every offseason. They pump the narrative that because we signed Ceedee we can’t sign Micah or whatever simply as a smokescreen.

The Jones’ just don’t want to front the cash required to actually sign players because that does actually require liquid cash, which rumor has it the Jones’ are lower on than a lot of ownership groups.

Apparently Brad Holmes knows what he is doing as a GM.

No way you let your top defensive talent go if you are serious about winning a SB. Don't drag your feet. Don't posture in the media. Don't wait until deadlines "make deals".

It's not really all that complicated. You just put the monster cap hit years in alternating seasons so you never have more than one at a time. Dak this year, CeeDee next year, Bland the year after and so on. It's maybe the most frustrating thing about how the Cowboys do business.. They act as if they can't do math or something.
They act as if their fans can’t do math.

I think Stephen is so arrogant that he really believes he is quite proficient in both his understanding and management of the “complicated” salary cap; therefore, it is beyond the understanding and comprehension of the majority of fans, so he believes he can feed us the same stale rhetoric time-after-time. Stephen is a freaking moron.

They won't.

Exactly! He’s the steward of his daddy’s cap so whenever it’s someone else’s money you don’t sit like it’s actually yours. He splurges and play tough negotiator for no sensible reason.

Our front office could easily learn from other front offices.
We continue to struggle making smart free agency decisions.

You mean they could have re-signed Parsons?
Well I be blowed! Who would have thought that...

The only thing Stephen Jones knows about pie is eating it.

And judging by his looks, he eats a lot of it.

Won’t happen. Actually the media has been very soft on them all season.

Since Jerry threatened that guys job last season for asking him a simple question about free agency.

No one holds this front office accountable. It’s honestly sad. I’m in Toronto. If Jerry pulled half of what he has here the media would have destroyed his fake big ego.

See. How many of you bought that garbage about either it was Micah or the DT? That was total nonsense. What we needed was Micah AND a DT. But You all bought that nonsense about trading Micah was a CAP move. It was never about the CAP. It was about Jerry's hurt feelings. That is no way to run a football team.

I think a 2 year old could teach them.
It is not about teaching anybody anything. Don't you get it, the Jones's do not care about anything but separating you from your money so they can make more and more dough for themselves. The fandom in Dallas is stupid. They come up with all sorts of rationales to continue to pour money into Jethro's pocket. Rationales like, I am a long-time diehard fan and I could never stop rooting for this team. That is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Jethro and his son have brought you mediocrity for 30 years and you continue to pay filet mignon prices for dog meat. Until the fans stop doing that the Jones Bank and Trust will continue to rake in the money while serving up rare gruel to the fans who delude themselves into thinking they have to support a franchise that has consistently lied to them.

They know that fan sentiment is against players getting paid, period, salary cap or not, so when they tell this story they know fans will go autopilot to continuing their claim that players are greedy.
