Could we see Hanna 20 yards down the seam? Just once? Please?

I would really like to see this sort of play. Use his speed. We tried it one time last year, successfully.

Thank you!

The lack of imagination is crushing. At least a shot? The niners can find ways to get speedy TEs down the field but we can't find one way to do it? Just because Witten is a HOF doesn't mean you can find ways to play other guys to their strengths.

Yeah I thought we would use him like dallas Clark but seems like a John Phillips clone

We need to turn the dogs loose. We may have to wait on Tony to get better. We may also have to wait until Callahan/Garrett open up the offense. :(

Kinda frustrating to watch Cinci run their multiple TE sets deep up the seam successfully knowing come Sunday ours will be doing 3 yard outs.

Yes, very frustrating. It's like since we have Witten here no other TE can do good but Witten. Hanna was wide open several times in that game but he is probably one of the last options to throw to because we have no imagination at all.

No not yet. We need to draft a few more TEs and then we can take the NFL by storm with the "Ultimate 5" TE package. This will make you forget about running the "12."

Or we have to wait till they are fired
which is distinctly possible.

JG's scheme emulates the 12 package in looks only it seems. After the snap we don't see what the Pats or Saints do with their speed TE's---they use them to stretch the field and clear zones for the Welkers, the Sproles..........We moan about Dez seeing doubles, even triples----well the speed TE straight up the seam is the quickest way to pull the Safety off Dez., clear the slot pattern of LB's for miles.

Gimme' the old gunslinger Romo.......let him leave the reservation a few times (Parcels), he's married now, he wont go too far :)

Too much logic here. Brain is about to explode.

It's not just Hanna that's not seeing the 20-yard passes lately. They're even rare for the wideouts like Dez and Miles Austin. The OL's inability to sustain their pass blocking consistently for the required time should gradually become less and less of a problem as Frederick and Waters get better established there. It'll get better in time.

Needed a good laugh this morning! Thanks
And lets just hope Jerry and the brain trust don't see this or it just might happen.

Well from what I hear by nfl analysts. The middle of the field is open on most defenses like ours. The best way to beat that is 2 tight ends. What did we draft esocbar and have hanna and witten for?? Put them to use!

I dunno but it's been like this for 9 years now... maybe it's still a process???

This is where the Pats, the Saints, the Packers set things up for the same look a few plays later, or in the game. They watch what the team covers a Hanna deep with--a LB? does it pull the Safety off dez, ----JG's scheme is playing checkers---move by move, the advanced schemes are playing chess, a move early in the game sets up a checkmate on a drive later in the drive or in the game.

Can't agree more. Vanilla at best, we don't attack the seam or middle of the field anymore.

Just a reminder its two games! The Pats and Saints who everyone is creaming over have struggled on offense as much as us if not more. The Bengals put up 20 at home we would have put up 22-30 without the turnovers and dropped bomb. That is the only difference. I know all you complainers are genius OCs but really it's way too early to freak
