People talking about he should retire....can you imagine for 20 years having a dream and finally achieving it? Would you let it go that easy? I know I wouldn't. I'm for bringing him back but if he retires I wouldn't feel bad either. He needs to do what's best for him. And if its best for him to give this NFL thing one last go? I'm rooting for him. If he wants to hang it up i'm rooting for him. But no one is in any position to tell him what he should do other then himself.

Got to point out that Ernie Sims has concussion problems too. He actually has had a longer history with them.

I would think he's a vet minimum guy. He's already getting guaranteed money from the Jags this year.

True. He might want a little guaranteed money, though, for the risk he's taking.

thats the things fans just don't get. this is a life long dream for these guys. sometimes you need to protect them from themselves and he may be a case like that. but before he can come back he is gonna be checked out by team docs to see if he is healthy or not. but i can sure see how a guy would risk his future health to play in the nfl. most people who say they would just walk away have never seen a dream go up in smoke. hard to just walk away from what you have dreamed of your whole life
i don't know if he can make it thru a season or not. but if he can pass a physical i have no problem giving him a cheap deal and letting him attempt his dream. little to lose on the teams end, and you may save him from his own self

He's not going to be on any team's day one roster because his salary would be guaranteed fo rthe year. You can't rely on a guy who is one likely head shot away from IR.

Move on. He left the Cowboys. Dez, Miles, Harris, Beasley, and others are the future. They earned their shot.

Yet they signed Ernie Sims last season and just signed him again to vet min. He has quite a bit more history with concussions than Robinson.

No wonder he talks like he has an IQ of 57.

Give him some time. I think there is a decent chance he may be back.

One free agent the Cowboys will keep an eye on down the road is Laurent Robinson.

The club hoped to keep the receiver after his breakout season in 2011 but could not come close to the 5-year, $32.5 million contract he received from Jacksonville.

It was a good year financially for Robinson _ the contract guaranteed him $14 million _ but not competitively. He suffered four concussions and managed to play in only seven games.

Robinson caught 24 passes for 252 yards and no touchdowns for the Jaguars. He caught 54 passes for 858 yards and 11 touchdowns in his only season with the Cowboys.

Robinson’s health is a concern, and not just the concussions. There are questions to be answered about an ankle injury.

But he developed such a strong rapport with quarterback Tony Romo, especially in the red zone, that he remains an option once the club does have money to spend.

How low and how bored have we sunk when we are talking about maybe having interest in a WIDE RECEIVER who has had 4 concussions and didnt live up to his hype.God help me make it to the draft so these posts stop!!

yes, could see it happening for a near vet minimum and JJ will come out looking like a genius.

Jerry, a genius? Maybe if the standard is set by the guy that said this:

"A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein."

It's funny how people are taking the morally high road and saying they wouldn't want him on the team because of his concussion issues, but then they're saying they hope nothing happens to murderer Josh Brent so he can fill the NT position for us this year.

For his sake, I hope not. Concussions are no joke. He's made plenty of money and should just enjoy his health while he has it.

He should probably call it quits.

However, if he's going to play playing NFL football in 2013, I'd sure like it to be here. He can't be worth much, and its' worth the dice toss if he can return to his previous cowboys form with Romo.

If he is cleared to play & we can sign him near the vet minimum, then Jerry & Stephen need to get a deal done. We don't have any size behind Dez & Miles, plus the chemistry he had with Romo was a sight to see & if his health improves during this offseason, I don't see why they couldn't get right back in sync with one another after a year.

IF he can get healthy, I'd love to have him back. Romo clicked with LR almost instantly and they always seemed to be on the same page when Romo was scrambling for his life. I think Romo missed him last year, especially in the early part of the season when he was counting on Ogletree and Dez to be in the right spot/make the proper adjustments. Fortunately, Dez seemed to get much better at knowing what to do/where to be as the season went on and Ogletree was phased out a bit.

Of course there is the part where he scored 11 touchdowns for this team in less than a full season. Maybe that is why he's being discussed.

Get out of here with your common sense! Where do you think you are? Don't you know that anything and everything Cowboys-related is pathetic crap?

There is nothing moral about this. The article I referenced talks about his wife wanting him around for her and the kids. Having 3 kids I understand and just want him healthy for their sake. There is no higher ground thinking that way. That's how it should be...whether he had a dream or not. I also haven't seen Brent mentioned anywhere so let's get off our own high horse.
