I'd love to kick the tires on Robinson. Him and Romo had great chemistry. And I'd assume he'd badically be had on the vet min. Which are the type of moves we're in on.

I like him - and he and Tony had good chemistry. But, he needs to retire. He has to sit in the dark like 90% of the day - he can't be around his kids if they're crying/loud. The game just isn't that important.

I work with a guy who is Laurent's best friend from Tampa, FL area. I asked him if the cowboys are inquiring about him. Here is his response.

"His agent is in touch with the ‘Boys… but what he told me is that they are waiting for salary cap space to be freed up via some contract re-works with some of the big name Cowboys (Romo and others).
So before his agent will have serious talks with them, the Cowboys want to free that space up before entering into negotiations.

Laurent seems comfortable with this (because of that massive payday last year). He and his wife live within their means so he isnt worried about a paycheck at all… so it seems like both sides are willing to wait patiently until something can be done.

It is 100% his top choice… if the Boys want him back… but of course his concussion situation is being watched closely.

He said he feels fine except for at the end of workouts he gets dizzy on occasion. I hope it clears up because I would love to see him back in that silver and blue!!!"

Now that Romo got L-Rob his big payday, and the fact that he has had so many concussions, I wonder how hungry of a player he would even be going forward.

I just get a feeling if we sign him he'll retire after the first big hit. I just don't see this going well for Robinson and the boys.

I was thinking this as well. But his immediate chemistry and production with Romo was undeniable. If the concussions are not an issue, bring him back at a cap friendly price.

I liked Laurent a lot after the season he had for us. I started liking him before his big catches started when the first game or two he played for team, the TV panned over to him standing on the bench waving a towel to pump up the crowd. I did not expect him to do as well as he did, but it was a pleasant surprise to get more than you expect from a free agent player for a change.

That said, I was not sad to see him leave simply because I did not believe him to be worth what I knew FA would pay him. I don't fault him for leaving for a big contract as I think most of us would have done the same, but he left and we moved on. With his concussions becoming a big problem, the emergence of Harris and Dez making remarkable strides in his game means Laurent would likely not have the same opportunities he had when he was filling in as the #2 or #3 receiver.

I don't think signing him would be bad as long as we did it cheaply, but I would not expect him to be the same player he was for us two years ago.

He should retire. Did great with the Cowboys and if healthy could do it again, but if he doesn't need the money, he needs to do what's best for his family. He is 27, just isn't worth the risk.

Thanks for posting! What a great information source.

The above is concerning, however.

I think it would be nice for him to come back and God forbid something happens he retires a cowboy where he made a name for himself.

If Robinson plays It shows that some players have zero concern over their health.. If I was the NFL I would have some kind of waiver in every new players contract saying you are playing at your own risk..

Sounded like when Jones talked about it, they were truly interested. Dont know how it will work this time but there should be no bonus money involved. If they have to cut him there would be no carry over.

I expect him to come down with that dreaded disease all fans hate: the got-paid-itis.

First symptoms are the very subtle (and surprise, surprise, undetectable even to trained professional doctors) tweaked hammies and back spasms.

In the later stages of this disease one starts to see alligator arms. Strangely, no symptoms of this during practice, only appears during games.

In the final stages, can't remember any play calling for a crossing pattern or skinny post. But, remembers all down-and-outs. Seems to magically veer toward large white stripe on the sideline often.

No thanks to him. One year and the 2-14 Jaguars canned him. What does that tell you? And even before the concussions, he wasn't doing squat in camp.

That part concerns me. I would like him as a solid backup here in Dallas though. It is time to give Beasley and Harris their shots. Especially Harris. That guy plays lights out when he is on the field. Gives 110% out there.

They cut him for a lot of reasons. At the top of the list is stopping the financial bleeding of a bad investment. Paying a number two, number one money is always a mistake.

Robinson suffered his first concussion in training camp after he hit his head on a concrete outlay around the Jaguars cheap crappy practice facility. He then had more problems because he pushed things, came back too soon and suffered more concussion problems. Sounds like the exact opposite kind of guy than the one you're describing. Making up injuries? He couldn't even be around his newborn child or go out in daytime because his headaches were so bad.

What was not reported was that Robinson thinks he is Ethel Merman and belts out "There's no business like show business," when working out.

Don't sign him. :D

I love Robinson but I think a return is a bad idea.

First for his health...the guys is having concussion symptoms months after he last played. That's not good.

Secondly, the potential cost. We can't afford to sign a guy, even for reasonable money, that potentially ends up on injured reserve and we get stuck with his contract against the cap.

Third, the "progress stopper" theory. We have two starting WR's and Harris needs to be the third. He's ready to be a big contributor. We don't need Robinson as a 4th receiver.

He was only good cause he wasn't covered like Dez, Miles, & Witten
when he was the #1 in Jax he did nothing, I'd like to see him signed though for cap friendly deal.

They can sign him with clauses in his contract and also have an injury settlement in place so that the Cowboys don't get burned in the even he is injured again.
