Count me as very disappointed with poor media coverage of Wednesday's OTA

Admit I was very disappointed with what I see as minimual reporting by the media (particularly Dallas media) of Wednesday OTA. I mean they get 1 chance a week to watch the Cowboys' practice & all we got was:

1. Lots of Pacman coverage
including Cowboys positive impression, INT & returns, etc.
2. Romo's left head gets stepped on but didn't seem affect his throwing.
3. Jenkins real impressive
4. Ellis was there
5. Hamlin wasn't there
6. Glenn wasn't there & info re $500,000 waiver we want him to sign
7. Some race car driver named Helio (whatever) catches passes from Romo & Newman covers
8. Curtis #2 on depth chart with Bennett #3
9. Scandarik played
10. Henry working at safety in some defensive secondary formations & Henry willing move perm to safety at some point.
11. Carpenter was working with 3rd team
12. TO was up in NY most of Wednesda, returning in time for PC
13. Dave Campo likes his new secondary

Except for above, I don't recall much other reporting. I expected more because Breer (more then any of the other media types) previously had provided more tidbits on variety of players. I've no doubt that many posters on this board would have done a better job of gathering info to bring back to us. Example: tidbits on most of our 08 drafted players as well as our undrafted players; which young WRs stepping up; whose stepping up from 07 class; etc. Hopefully less national media will be at VR next Wednesday & more info gathered for us, particularly from Breer who didn't report much unlike last Wednesday.

I agree, they haven't really given us much info. They'll tell us Pacman got another INT, but what about the other plays throughout the day? Did Bartel complete passes against him and to who? Yes, we know Roy accidently hit Felix, but did he do anything else of note? Did he drop back into coverage ever?

Sure, it was only two practices that they watched, but they should be able to give us much more than they have been instead of hot topic stories like Witten getting mad at someone's hat.

What I wanted was something like first Wednesday reporting about how Austin got everything, litterally, everything thrown to him including some passes behind him. The 2nd Wednesday we heard that Hurd was looking good but that Austin had dropped a pass. Don't recall anything about either yesterday. I think somebody said something about Stanbach but it was so minimal I forgot.

Come on. With all those eyes focused on the team drills etc you mean all those combined reporters could only come up with around 12/13 things.

With that many, we should have full play-by-play breakdown accompanying X and O sketches.

I dont know how you could be upset. They use all their footage for their sunday night shows.

Also the blitz is shown on sunday night. the reporting and the media pieces will be this sunday night locally. I am sure they will cover alot of stuff. I saw a piece of this weeks blitz already on nfl ta where owens was sitting at the boothe with mickey and bill and brad. So they must have an interview with owens sunday night just like they had with romo last week.

All I can say is....wow. Has any other team in the NFL had as much reporting on practices in shorts and shells....in the spring? Last night we had 15 minutes of coverage on NFL Total Access and articles almost every day over the past month from multiple print organizations (although too many of them were about Roy). TO was on NFLTA tonight. We were covered on Sirius NFL Radio today.

The Cowboys are the undisputed media kings right now. The coverage right now is every bit the equal of the regular season.....in June. The level of coverage we're gonna see in camp is going to be unbelievable. HBO's ratings will be through the roof.

If you are unsatisfied with team coverage right now, you are spoiled indeed.

If I read a couple things correctly. MacMahon was on vacation...and I think Breer was assigned to other duties cuz he didn't do many blog posts.

FWST blog wrote some observations, but most of the info has already been posted in various articles.

But like lspain said, there's been a ridiculous amount of Cowboys coverage of a simple OTA, so I can't really complain.

I bet if it was his right head we would have seen more.

I was satisfied with the coverage and that's saying a lot because I never get enough Cowboys. They'd better walk the walk this year because the spotlight is on and in full force.

I saw that too. The NFL Network tried to play it off last night like they had the interview and then tonight they throw up a few 2 minute clips from the Blue Star Media piece.

You gonna record the T.O. interview?

The fact that Breer was not on his regular beat is what it made it seem scarce. Some of those Calvin Watkins-authored posts were painful to read, syntax and grammar seem to be a problem for him sometimes!
