I bought this about 5 years ago from a guy who was selling off an estate. I know it's different from the "Our Story" book in that this one is leather bound and very limited production. And also it is autographed by Jerry Jones and Numbered. It must have been a gift of some kind from the cowboys to someone or made available through some outlet. Any info on this book would be appreciated.

Can you not contact the publisher about it. I see the number on it but do not see a total number. I am sure you are aware of how they do it with some things (since you collect cards) usually it would say 200 our of 250 or something.

Either way I would contact the publisher and get all the details. You might also check on ebay, probably could find about anything there.

There are none on Ebay. I've checked. I am pretty sure this is an extremely limited edition book. Maybe of only 250. That would be a real find.

Can we see more?

Pretty much, it's a full pictorial history of the team. Huge color pics. Very cool book. Coffee table type of book.

Sorry to be the one to tell ya. It's a worthless pile of unauthorized dung. You should send it to me and I'll throw it away for ya. Seriously. No, really. Ship it next day air so we can get it over with.

I just picked up a book too. 'Bout the size of yours. (WAY bigger tho, just messin' :) ) It's titled "Greatest Team Ever" by St.Angelo and Norm Hitzges. Haven't read the whole thing(shame on me) yet, but what I've glossed over is very interesting. Some stuff I hadn't heard/read.

That's pretty cool. It's a great book.

BTW, something interesting in the Jerry Jones autographed book, is that in the back where they list all of the rosters by date, the 1962 team roster is actually the Dallas Texans. I about fell over when I saw it.

Old school as it gets. Nice find, Cajun. It's official now. I must hate you. ;)

Weren't they named the "Dallas Stars" or something like that previously?

They were first called the Rangers but before they ever took the field they changed to Cowboys.

Here's a cool story from Gil Brandt.

When they first started they were the Rangers and all of their letterhead and contracts had Rangers on them. Well, since they weren't "officially" in the league yet they had to sign some players to personal services contracts. So they sent these out to the players to sign. Once they were admitted to the league, they thought it would be too confusing with the Rangers baseball team so they changed the name to Cowboys. So instead of making up new contracts, they just scratched out the name "Rangers" and penciled in "Cowboys".
