1tech/0tech type DTs often don't rack up stats.
Go look at Gilbert Brown's stats. They were minimal but he was one of the best pure run stoppers in NFL history before he ate his way out of the league.
- For example, Brown in 1998 for the Packers had paltry stats, but Green Bay was 4th in rushing yards allowed, 2nd in rushing 1st downs allowed, 2nd in rushing TDs allowed.
Ted Washington had OK stats but only big tackle stats for a couple of seasons, yet he was an all time great run stuffing DT.
Stats for DTs are very scheme specific.
