Dallas Cowboys linebacker Jasper Brinkley is in his seventh NFL season, but he might not be the most successful athlete in his house. His wife, Kellie Wells, won the bronze medal in the 100-meter hurdles at the London Olympics in 2012.

Wells has her medal on display at the couple’s house in Dallas.

“I think it’s even. We challenge each other at everything, and I mean everything,” Brinkley said. “Who can tie shoes better. Who can do everything. It’s crazy. We’re so competitive. I also have an identical twin, so I grew up being competitive. It’s crazy.”

Wells refuses to race Brinkley, though Brinkley concedes he would probably lose. “I know she would get me if there were hurdles,” he said. The couple is expecting a baby boy Dec. 25.

Here are the five things he likes about being married to another professional athlete:
1. “The competitiveness.”

2. “The love.”

3. “The understanding of each other’s job.”

4. “Support definitely.”

5. “Having athletic kids. That’s definitely a plus to it. We also want to bring them up the right way.”

Mr Brinkley, let's review:

1. There were only two women in the entire world better at the 100-meter hurdles than your wife.
2. You know in your heart that your wife would stomp your you know what running the hurdles.
3. You're still stuck at the starting line of nine-month pregnancy marathon you could never dream of competing with your wife.

Yes, Mr. Brinkley. You are not the most successful athlete in your house. Don't get depressed. The best Christmas present imaginable will arrive in a few months. And 2016 may be the best year ever if you help your team win a Super Bowl.

Sometimes it's good coming in second place.

Kellie Wells

So I have a small rant this morning.... and if anyone knows me, they know I don't rant often. So I got an email from someone today that said "Hi Kellie
As the World Champs are about to start, you remain in my prayers. Sorry it did not work out this time" and it really hit home with me... not because I'm not competing at worlds but because my absence there is looked at like a failure. I am choosing to take time away from the sport to become a wife and a mother! As an athlete we are taught from a very young age to sacrifice it all to achieve our goals and dreams but when do we get the glory of life? I'm a 33 year old woman and for 10+ years I've laid it all on the line for myself, my family, country, and sponsor so now I want to do something for me and my fiancé! Often times, as athletes we miss out on so many things for the sport that we love and we gladly do it because at the end of the day this is our job (well... nike doesn't give maternity leave) so we do it... and do it with smiles on our faces!I have loved every minute that I competed and I do look forward to my return but I'm also looking forward to the ultimate medal in life which is making and giving life to someone!!! I don't look at my absence as a failure or anything sad.... it's literally the most happy and excited i've been and i've lined up for finals at US trials... world championships... and the Olympics and non of that compares to the excitement when I feel my little baby move around or when I imagine what it's little face will look like (well the olympics still ranks really high!! LOL!)! I'm so excited to tune into world championships to watch my friends and colleagues compete for some glory of their own.... I guess I wrote all of this to say that there are so many different types of glory and life and never be afraid to live it how you see fit!

y'all can share this if you like.... I don't mind!

PS I MISS all of my track fam so much! (hope y'all are ready for the turn up at the wedding!!)

It's alright wanting more out of life than accolades. Good for her. I'm surprised Nike doesn't provide maternity leave.

You have to really love a man to marry a guy named Jasper.
