I guarantee he'll be #24 regardless of how many yards he gets tomorrow. :D

Seriously though, that is kind of weird. I hope #24 becomes #24.

Whoa. If only JuJo wore #23. :D

So... looks like Pat Watkins is gonna have to give up his number to Darren McFadden next year.

;)

Thanks, you saved me some work, I was going to do this right after he got it.
They also have had a bunch of seasons with someone getting between 900-999 yards. Some close calls like Newhouse, Hambrick and Perkins if Im not mistaken.

Yes, and Tony Dorsett once, his rookie season, and Emmitt Smith twice, his first and last years here. I'm still pissed that Coslet didn't use Emmitt in the last game to get him that mark. Tony would have had another 1000 yard season in 1982 if not for the Players Strike that killed 7 games. He had 745 yards that year in 9 games.

Tony and Herschel sort of prevented each other from reaching that mark in 1986. They were too good to not use both, or one of them would have got it.

JJ came real close in 2005. He needed only - what was it? - 40 or so yds in the last game and did not get it. It should be dead easy to get MB his 19.

Same thing in 1987 with Herschel and Tony. Not only were they splitting carries, but the strike/lockout/scab games cost Herschel 4 games and Tony 3 games. Walker had 891 yards that year in only 12 games.

I actually forgot about that year. You are correct as usual.

and then the old Romo deal.... #9 being our 9th QB since Aikman

That wasn't the problem. Emmitt got more then enough carries that game. He had 18 carries... for a whopping 13 yards. That's .7 yards per carry. At that rate he would have needed 54 carries in that game to reach 1000 for the season.

If he would have averaged a lowly 3 yards per carry on those 18 carries he would have ended up with 1016.

Nah, he had plenty of carries. He and the OL just didn't play any good that game.

Didn't it take the playoff games for TD to get his 1000 his rookie year?

That really hurts to look at.
Why? Is it necessary to hate a man who produced the best he could for the team you love?
