Cowboys 2026 Draft Picks as of today

The Cowboys have no plan which makes any move hard to grade hard based on any “normal” football criteria.

Jerry is so incompetent that you never know how it will fit together and if today’s plan will be the same as tomorrows plan.

So, I kinda devalue draft picks compared to some, particularly because we have drafted very poorly over the last few years.

So, is Q worth a 1st and a 2nd? Yeah, probably, because outside of Micah, we’ve been poor at drafting and the odds of us hitting on anything close to Q is a thousand to one.

We’ve pretty much failed on the last four drafts

We’ve extended guys we never should have extended (Osa, Bland, Diggs, Ferguson)

Why? Because we can’t reliably draft.

2021
  • Micah - Great pick
  • Osa - Overpaid and Average
  • The Rest - Suckola

2022
  • Tyler Smith - Good but not great pick
  • Ferguson - Overpaid and Average
  • Bland - Overpaid and Average
  • All the rest - SuperSuck

2023
  • Mazi - Bust
  • Schoonmaker - Sucks
  • Overshown - 13 games in 3 years lol
  • The rest - Suckorama
2024
  • Guyton - Below Average
  • Beebe - Average
  • Kneeland - Below Average
  • The rest - JAGs or Sucking
2025
  • Booker - Average
  • Eze - Looks good
  • The rest - So far JAGs or future suck

Umm.. what? Who in their right mind is going to give up that much for Diggs?
Mingo costs us basically nothing next year. Jethro and Stephen love players that cost next to nothing.

I would not assume Pickens is automatically resigned foe $30M+. I also don't think we can afford to tag him, so fair chance he gets traded.

If so, don't be surprised if both Mingo and Tolbert return.

I would trade the Packers for 2nd and 3rd. It's going to be in the 30s
Hopefully, we can, but it depends on what is there. We need a DE, S, LB and possibly CB. If one we want is there with that 1st, I'm good with taking him. But if we consider them all equal, I'd like to trade down some and recoup our third.

You answered absolutely none of what I asked lol. No one is going to give a 2nd or 3rd rd pick for Diggs.

Feed the crap out of Pickens the rest of the season 10-15 targets per game.

Then tag and trade him before the draft.
Mulugheta can simply not sign the tag and Dallas can’t trade him. He won’t sign it until his client gets what he thinks his client is worth from a team, then sign the tag and the Cowboys can trade him to that team.

Jerry isn’t smart, but he knows the tag gives the player’s agent a degree of control. Do you believe Jerry wants to have to work with Mulugheta to get a trade done?

Jerry is not smart enough to trade him before he becomes a FA. So he will be Tagged.

Sure he can refuse to sign the tag and sit the year out and not get paid.

If Jerry pays him $30M+ he is an idiot and not serious about winning.

Obviously he would need a new contract to be traded.

If Mulugheta forces Jerry into trading him, because we know Jerry will try to resign him, Mulugheta may become the best thing that has happened to the Cowboys in a very long time.

Then if we some how won a SB in the next few years, I would give more credit to Mulugheta than Mr Jones.

I would cut Diggs or take a conditional 7th or whatever you could get.

They will more than likely trade down with one of those picks to get back into Day 2.

As good as Williams is I hate not having anything in rounds 2 and 3.
Exactly. I also think they could trade guys like Diggs or Osa and acquire some additional draft capital while clearing some cap at the same time.

Not saying we’d get much for Diggs at this point, but Osa could get us some value if there is a team desperate for a 3T.

Pretty sure trading Osa would be a big cap hit on his second year and not sure he has played up to justifying the new contract yet.

Clark could be traded or cut at zero expense.

I know this isn't gonna be popular opinion but they can get a second round pick back at minimum and maybe another 1st if they trade George Pickens you tag him in the offseason try to work something out match an offer if not you let him go before the draft and now you can get your second back or maybe even another first you might have to do that I know people don't want to see it but exactly how have having Lamb and Pickens on the field at the same time done anything the last two games we're losing games 'cause it doesn't matter because other guys are fumbling missing blocks dropping passes it don't matter george Pickens is not necessary for a winning offense we still have enough pieces without him I think we need to get more draft picks and having him on the team for $30 million instead of using that for defense you can use the draft pick you get back for him to get a receiver in the draft a really good one I think we should roll with Flournoy as the number 3 as a candidate for the number 2 while the rookie learns but I don't like think you guys are going to like it we need to allow George Pickens to leave you just franchise tag him first or second round tender you're going to get an extra draft pick.

Save the 30 million and use it on the defense in free agency You don't have to use draft picks for free agents jerry doesn't realize this but when an extra 30 million plus all the cap room we have plus more to come you can build this defense up with the moves they've made today plus that money you save from George Pickens and I know people are not going to like it but I saw the offense the last two weeks i'm not impressed I prefer them to have CD lamb and grow some younger receivers we absolutely do not need George Pickens I like the guy but if we can get our draft back in order and get another number 2 or even a number number one I'm doing that in a heartbeat.
Pickens is a guy that you want to keep.

He has value so trade him. Just salary dump him.
I would attempt to restructure Clark's contract.

Hopefully he has injoyed his short time in Dallas so far and is excited to play next to Williams moving forward.

If he is cut he leaves with no money. So we can attempt to trade him and see if their is truly a market to pay him $20M/year.

My guess is no, that is why his last 2 years have zero guarantees. His Agent can test the market and see what he is currently worth and then we can make a decision, if we want to keep him at that price.

Yeah, Osa would instantly cost $39m against the 2026 cap if he was traded.
