the only way I give up a 3rd for Fairley is if we happen to do the obligatory trade down in the first and acquire an extra 2nd or 3rd...then we have the extra pick to take the chance like that...

It would be great to have him but I doubt we can afford him. Have Melton, Fairley, Selvie/Spencer and a 1st round pick playing DE would be a step in the right direction IMO. We would be set at DT for the next few years. No way the Lions let him walk. He was tossing Brian Waters around pretty good last year when we played them - to the point that Waters was severely injured. Just a pipe dream though.
